Did you know there are three
types of motor connections a.t
the continuation of the series,
shunt and compound.
1. Introduction
Most of the factories, the machine of choice as a dc drive or
control elements. Among the AU engine is unusual compared with
high starting torque and has a range of different velocities that
can be operated in both directions round.
1.1 DC Motor Speed Control.​​
When the machine at work as a motor, the emf generated (Em) is
less than the voltage applied to the terminal voltage (V).

When the machines at work as a generator emf is
generated (eg) is greater than the voltage applied to
the terminal voltage (V).

Shunt motor Motor Series
2) When the machine works as
-a generator is emf generated (eg) is greater than the voltage applied to
the terminal voltage (V)
-a motor, the emf generated (Em) is less than the voltage applied to the
terminal voltage (V ).
3) Two special use direct current motors, namely:
i. Having a high starting torque
ii. Has a range of different velocities
4) From this equation can be expressed.
i. When the large V, the speed will increase in size
ii. When the armature current (It) high, more high-speed motor
iii. Flux (φ) is inversely proportional to motor speed. This means when a
high flux, motor speed will be reduced

1.1.2Kawalan Medan
Tujuan kawalan ini adalah untuk mengurangkan fluks (φ)
dengan menambahkan rintangan medan. Apabila fluks (φ)
berkurangan maka kelajuan N boleh bertambah (boleh mencapai
3/4 kali daripada kelajuan biasa).

Excess

Weakness

1.1.3 Armature control

In both the motor, the resistance R connected in series with the
armature. Thus the armature voltage Va can be reduced by making
changes in the value of R. If the voltage drop in R high, the voltage
Va is reduced. Indirectly, the speed, N can be decreased.
Advantages:
- a large range of speed control.
Weakness
- As it flows through the resistance (R) then there is power loss in
the resistance.

3) Advantages-bit loss of power at the control circuit.
Weaknesses - the limited speed range.
4) advantages - a large range of speed control.
Weaknesses - As it flows through the resistance (R) then there
loss of power in the resistance.

Ward-Leonard system which is typical of a system configuration that contains
the generator (Control armature) that is coupled with a DC motor drive.
In the current system of field coil motor (M) will be supplied by a separate dc
supply. Electronic amplifier will control the current strength of If, the coil field
generator. The voltage generated will be the input voltage (V) of the motor
armature (m) where the speed is directly proportional to the voltage generated.
(nm ∞V). In conclusion, the motor speed can be varied by changing the control
signals in electronic amplifiers.

Sistem Ward-Leonard

Advantages:
i. Requiring low power control circuits.
ii. Change the speed of a fast and changing the direction of rotation
can be done.
iii. Can be adjusted in the automation control systems.
iv. Providing greater range and precise control.
Weaknesses: relatively high cost because it uses two motors and an
electronic amplifier.

Control resistance (face-plate starter / beginner resistor)
Among the methods used to control the motor speed is using the
old methods of resistance control.
a) Use a variable resistor, also known as a regulator of fields, the
series with a shunt coil, can be used only to shunt and compound
motors. If the resistance is increased, the flow field, the flux and
the emf generated will decline. Therefore more current flows
through the armature, and the increased torque that allows the
armature accelerates to the emf generated is equal to the applied
voltage.
With this method, the rate can be increased to three or four times
the value of the full excitation, but the rate can not be down in
value. Also, for a place setting rate is approximately maintained at
a constant value of between zero and full load.

Control resistance (face-plate starter / beginner resistor)
Among the methods used to control the motor speed is using the old methods
of resistance control.
b) Consumer resistance, also known as the controller, in series with
the armature. Installation of an electrical controller, is equal to the
difference is in the starter assembly controller, the resistor is
designed to carry continuous armature current while the starter is
designed to carry the current for a short period only, it does not
become excessively hot.
For a certain current value, the greater the resistance of the guard
it circuit, the smaller potential difference across the armature, the
lower it speed.

Change the speed of a fast and changing the direction of rotation can be done. iii. Can be adjusted in the automation control systems. iv. Providing greater range and precise control. Weaknesses: relatively high cost because it uses two motors and an electronic amplifier.

E4102-DC MOTOR CONTROL FADZILAH HASHIM TOPIK 1 - PEMACU INDUSTRI Control resistance (face-plate starter / beginner resistor) Among the methods used to control the motor speed is using the old methods of resistance control. a) Use a variable resistor, also known as a regulator of fields, the series with a shunt coil, can be used only to shunt and compound motors. If the resistance is increased, the flow field, the flux and the emf generated will decline. Therefore more current flows through the armature, and the increased torque that allows the armature accelerates to the emf generated is equal to the applied voltage. With this method, the rate can be increased to three or four times the value of the full excitation, but the rate can not be down in value. Also, for a place setting rate is approximately maintained at a constant value of between zero and full load.
