Acne is a common skin condition that plagues many people, not just teenagers. The situation can be
caused by various internal and external circumstances. Fortunately, there are many things that can
be done to minimize the damage to your skin now and help it to heal from this troubling condition.
When you get a pimple on your face that looks like it might need to be popped don't touch it. You
don't want to touch the pimple, don't scratch, squeeze or pinch it. It can lead to further irritation and
permanent scaring, though the irritating pimple may seem like it needs to be popped.
There are a number of things you can do to help prevent this frustrating side effect if you are
experiencing excess peeling from your acne products. Try using any stronger products with less
frequency, such as every other day instead of daily. In addition, use a moisturizer and an exfoliator
to help your skin as it peels to reveal healthier new layers.
A great home remedy for clearing up acne is apple cider vinegar. It may not smell so good, but if you
just put a tab on a cotton ball and rub it into the problem areas, you will have a clearer face by the
time you wake up in the morning.
A great way to help with acne problems is to use a different towel daily. The bacteria from one day
of use can actually stay dormant on that towel and transfer back onto your skin the following day.
You always want to start with a fresh clean towel after you wash your face.
Benzoyl Peroxide can be used to treat acne safely. It is particularly good for spot treating your
problem areas. Many people believe that this acid has damaging effects on your skin. However, it is
safe for using on your face, and can help you out when you are in a rut.
Taking a high-dose vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) supplement everyday could reduce acne and
improve the overall condition of your skin. Some studies suggest that vitamin B5 can regulate
hormones and fatty acids. A build up of fatty acids in the body can cause sebum to be excreted
through pores on the skin leading to acne, so by taking a supplement that regulates the levels of
fatty acids in the body, acne outbreaks should be reduced.
Try to avoid touching your face throughout the day. Many times we put our hands or fingers on our
face without even thinking about it. Our hands have bacteria on them that we pick up from various
surfaces. That bacteria then gets in to our pores and creates the pimples that make up acne.
Regular exercise can be helpful when you're dealing with re-occurring acne problems. Exercise is a
great way to release toxins, cleanse the pores (through sweating), and it also helps to relieve stress
(which some believe contributes to acne). Stick to natural cotton exercise gear however, as
synthetics can trap sweat and bacteria.
An important tip to consider when concerning acne is to try to used aspirin to clear up your skin.
This is important to consider because different techniques work for different people and the salicylic
acid that is present in aspirin may be what is right to clear up your face or other areas. Crush up
aspirin and add enough water to make a paste, then apply to the face. Consult with your doctor first.
Using an ice cube wrapped in a soft washcloth and holding it on your blemish can help with acne.
Hold the ice cube for a few minutes directly on the blemish and repeat the procedure every hour.
The cold compress helps with the discomfort of acne. Do not hold the ice cube on a blemish for more
than a few minutes at a time.
Be sure to clean or replace your makeup applicators frequently. When you do not change or replace
them, you are adding acne-producing dirt and bacteria to your face each time that you apply your
makeup. This can be a major cause of acne breakouts in woman who use makeup in their daily
routine.
