The Information Exchange System for Risk Identification and Assessment
project is an innovative initiative that calls for the investing of funds from
multidimensional sources in a data collection system. This system will
function as a mean to the early identification and assessment of hazard,
operational, strategic but primarily financial risks and its three major types:
market, credit and price risks affecting the small coffee producers’ sub-
sector of the Nicaraguan economy. The project will run in a web-based
platform through cellular communications. It is a bottom-up model that will
enable stakeholders to openly participate in the pursuit of information that
leads to the establishment of a risk processing model, a set of tailored risk
treatments and ultimately a risk management framework within the sub-
sector.
