Dear Friends:
The purpose of this survey was to understand members views of the Alpharetta Business Networking Club. The responses will be used in programming and developing the future direction of the group.
As of this writing there are 2,618 members and 45 respondents. Responses were solicited through MeetUp.com member communications. The survey was open from mid-August until mid-October.
Having conducted many surveys for clients over the years, this response rate is pretty good considering the constraints. You will see commentary and analysis from me throughout the survey in boxes like this one. Yours in networking,Frank

3. Q1: How likely is it that you would recommend this group to a friend or
colleague?
Answered: 41 Skipped: 4
“The Net Promoter Score is an index ranging from -100
to 100 that measures the willingness of customers to
recommend a company's products or services to others.
It is used as a proxy for gauging the customer's overall
satisfaction with a company's product or service and
the customer's loyalty to the brand.”
FS: I decided to include this as an experiment and may
use this as a member pulse check over time.

5. Q2: Do you like the casual and unstructured format of the monthly
networking events?
Answered: 44 Skipped: 1
FS: Eight out of 10
say they prefer the
casual format. We
will stick to it for
our monthly
Monday night
events.

7. middle of our monthly networking event? For example, allowing
*members* to make an educational presentation based on their area of
expertise.

FS: The group seems
very open to this. I’m
considering a mini “Ted
Talk” in the middle of
our monthly meetups.
It’s challenging given the
format of our venue. Hit
me up if you have ideas
for implementation!

9. Q4: What day of the week do you think would work best to schedule these
events?
Answered: 45 Skipped: 0
FS: Monday gets the
plurality, but not a
majority of the votes.
The challenge with
other days of the
week is we compete
with other events
and it taxes
attendance. I may
try to do some
smaller events on
other days.

13. Q6: Would you prefer future events be held at different locations or do
you like the routine of having the same location?
Answered: 45 Skipped: 0
FS: We’ve got a good
relationship budding
with the Village Tavern
and that’s important.
We can experiment a bit
in 2018, or perhaps add
other events.

15. Q7: Does your business or employer have a venue or conference room it
would be willing to donate for group events?
Answered: 44 Skipped: 1
FS: Four of you said
you have venues, but
I don’t know who you
are! Please reach out
to me or hit me up at
the next meetup.

17. Q9: Setting the existing events aside (we will continue to do those), which
of the following additional event ideas would interest you? (select all that
apply)
Answered: 45 Skipped: 0
FS: We are going to
try some new events
in 2018. If you are an
organizer with
another business
group, I’d be glad to
chat about co-
producing and event.

21. Thank you!
FS: I have real aspirations of developing quarterly events, like a panel
or roundtable in addition to our monthly meetups in 2018. As such
I’m on the hunt for venues and possible speakers (speakers, not sales
pitches). If you have ideas please do hit me up at an event, reach out
through meetup.com or email me at frank@swordandthescript.com
Thank you to those who took the survey, and thank you for reading
the results!
