Is it just me, or does everybody seem to be talking about Twitter…
Telling us how to use it … telling us how to use it…
And talking about numbers … and getting obsessed with numbers
Today I’m not going to do this – I’m going to show you how to get value from Twitter But today I’m going to talk about how you actually get value from Twitter
So how do you do it? So how do you do this?
Make sure you are actually listening The worst thing is to be on Twitter but not actually using Twitter Twitter is not a place for you to just feed information It is a place for you to listen to what others have to say too
2. And that you are actually engaging Respond to people as individuals Have micro-interactions Respond to people and enter into a conversation Ask what they thing and get instant feeback
And make sure what you find out is fed into the rest of the business This isn’t an isolated set of conversations It’s engaging new people in new ways And it’s a quick way of getting the customer voice into the business
But how do you make a million dollars?
Segment, segment, segment Segment, segment, segment…
Not everybody wants the same thing, so don’t treat them in the same way
And recognise that Twitter is only part of a social media strategy Use Twitter as the gateway to engaging with you
It is part of a hub-and-spoke social media strategy
Because it’s when they’re on your own site that you get most benefit Innovation Insight Word of Mouth

  • 9. And make sure what you find out is fed into the rest of the business This isn’t an isolated set of conversations It’s engaging new people in new ways And it’s a quick way of getting the customer voice into the business
