Slide 32 Curved (Right and Left) Tips, Clinical view Curved tips—facing either left or right—are most effective on the interproximal surfaces of posterior teeth; in furcations; wherever there are tight contacts; around malpositioned molars; and on concave surfaces. To identify a curved tip, rotate the insert so the tip is facing away from you. The direction of the first bend or angle will identify the tip as right or left. These descriptive terms (right or left) refer only to the bend in the design, not to a location for use in the mouth.
