17. All education is inherently religious, because it presents
a certain perspective and selection of history, values and practices
and it prescribes a worldview.

18. Instead of education,
teaching people
how to think, critically
we now mostly have
indoctrination, telling
students what to think.

School Campuses are a
Battleground

56. Freedom of speech and
freedom of conscience
is under fire
on school and
university campuses
which are meant to be
free market places
of ideas where
“iron sharpens iron”.

57. When Professor John Wycliffe of Oxford University produced
the first hand-written translation of the New Testament into
English (in the 14th Century), he wrote in the preface:

the government of the people,
by the people,
and for the people.”

Abraham Lincoln,

in his famous
Gettysburg Address
when he said:

60. “that government of the people, by the people, and for
the people shall not perish from the face of the earth.”

61. Lincoln also noted that: “The philosophy of the
classroom will become the philosophy of the
government in the next generation.”

is the re-writing of history.”

90. German Reformer Dr. Martin Luther warned,
almost five centuries ago:
“I am much afraid that schools will prove to be wide gates to
hell, unless they diligently labour in explaining the Holy
Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth.

Every institution in which men are not
constantly occupied with the Word of God
must become corrupt.”

needs to be
controlled by
parents,
aided by the
church,
but
independent
of the state
(Deuteronomy
6:7;
Hosea 4:6;
Matthew 28:19;
Ephesians 6:4;
Colossians 2:8).

93. One cannot entrust any state with the moulding of the minds
of the future voters. The control of education should be in
the hands of parents and the content of education must
be moral, character developing and Bible based.

109. We also need to ensure that our children are not being
indoctrinated by state schools and state textbooks.

how to think critically,

think.
