2. Why do you take an International Test?
These tests help you evaluate your ability to use English in real situations. If you want to improve
your job prospects, studies, or prepare to travel or live abroad, one of these examinations may be
right, they are:
* For anyone whose native language is not English
* Certificates are the internationally recognized level you have reached the language
* Recognized by universities, companies and educational authorities in many countries
* Known worldwide
* Done in more than 150 countries
* Valid for life

4. TESTING FOR CHILDREN (CYLET)
The Cambridge Young Learners Tests English (CYLET) are a series of tests for students of
English as a foreign language who are between 7 and 12 years.
Key English Test (KET) Nivel A2:
(KET) is the first level . Assesses the candidate's ability to communicate in a basic way, both
written and oral. This review provides a basic qualification in English and also represents a first
step for those wishing to progress to the PET.
Preliminary English Test (PET) Nivel B1:
The PET is equivalent to a pre-intermediate level of proficiency and corresponds to the B1 level
of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Note: The certifying level and test format is the same as KET, PET and FCE respectively, the
difference lies in the issues on the issue in the examination candidates are most suitable for
school age (under 14).
5. First Certificate in English (FCE) Nivel B2:
The F.C.E. (First Certificate In Inglés ) , is the third of international exams . Corresponds to the
B2 level of the Common European Framework and is an important test that provides a good
level of English , oral and written .
CAE (Certificate in Advanced English)
is the fourth of the exams offered by the University of Cambridge and corresponds to level C1
of the Common European Framework . The CAE is seen by institutions of higher education in
many countries as proof of adequate language skills for English taught courses and evaluated .
Certificate of Proficiency In English (CPE) Nivel C2:
The CPE ( Certificate Of Proficiency In Inglés ) is the highest of the Cambridge exams and C2
level corresponds to the European Reference Framework level . The level of English that
results from this test is perfect and students can speak and pronounce almost as a native
language .
6. ECUADOR
The ELLS are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:
Learning, teaching, assessment (CEFR) as they provide a common basis for the explicit
description of objectives, content, and methods. The proficiency levels set by the CEFR
and stablished as the benchmaks for Ecuador’s ELLS are A1, A2, and B1.
The progression of the levels is the following
Level A1: At the end of 9th year Educación Básica GeneraI
Level A2: At the end of 1st year Bachillerato
Level B1: At the end of 3rd year Bachillerato
