I started a four year modern apprenticeship at Burntisland Fabrications ltd, attending college for pst of my first year then
went onto day real ease to achieve my NVQ Level 3 qualification. During my time at Burntisland Fabrications I acquired
an extensive range of knowledge and skills, enabling me to work both individually and as part of a team, gaining
2. confidence to work under pressure and endurance. I worked in various jobs while working at Burntisland some of the jobs
included accommodation modules , jackets and wave machine. All welding was carried out 100% x-ray standard.I
achieved numerous codings these codings included
- 6g Tig. In various metals- stainless,carbon, duplex and inconel

I started at Subsea 7 in 2011. I was given the opportunity to do a further 1 years training programme at subsea7welding
development centre in Glasgow. I was given extensive training in the following processes
- TIG (carbon, stainless steel,duplex, super duplex, clad)
- Pulse MIG welding
- FCAW
- Pipeline repair welding
- Arc air gouging
- Vermat automatic welding
- CRC automatic welding
Once my training was complete I worked on qualifying numerous procedures for Subsea 7s projects, I then went onto work
on some of Subsea7s spoolbases.I worked on the following projects:
- STATOIL SVALIN (Norway) 12’ CLAD pipe using manual TIG
- CLAIRE RIDGE ( Leith) 5’ carbon automatic line using Lincoln Vermat automatic equipment
