4. Barack Obama is the current president of the United States of America and lives in the White House. He was born on August 4, 1961. He became president on January 20, 2009. He is the 44 th president, but he is the first president to be African American.

6. Written Communication In the United States of America, people use writing to communicate. People write stories, facts, and many other things down on paper (bottom). Some of these things get made into books (top), which are lots of pieces of paper with words on them combined to make a story.

9. Religion The United States of America supports many religions. The religions in the United States are Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Unitarian Universalism, Wiccan, and a lot more!

14. Stable Food Supply In the U.S. we have more than just supermarkets. We also have farms where we get fresh fruit, vegetables, and eggs from. We also have orchards where we grow fruit on trees. The picture on the right is of a person picking apples in an orchard.

15. Social Structure In the United States of America, we have three social classes. They are the upper class, the middle class, and the lower class. They are defined by how much money they have. The upper class have a lot of money, the lower class have very little money, and the middle class is right in between. The picture on the top is of a rich person, the middle picture is of a middle class person, and the bottom picture is of poor children.

16. Social Structure In the United States of America, people’s social structure usually shows in their house. The upper class have really big houses, the middle class have medium-sized houses, and the lower class have really small houses or no house at all. On the right there are three pictures.
