Solid Gold recalled one batch of Solid Gold WolfCub
Large Breed Puppy Food and one batch of Solid
Gold WolfKing Large Breed Adult Dog. None of the
products tested positive for Salmonella, but the
company voluntarily recalled the products as a
precautionary measure. The recalled foods had
been manufactured at Diamond Pet Foods' facility
in Gaston, S.C. which has been linked to several
other dog food recalls.
Both batches feature a "best before" date of
December 30, 2012, and an "X" in the 11th digit of
the production code.
The recalled WolfCub food came in 4-pound (UPC
093766750005), 15-pound (UPC 093766750012)
and 33-pound (UPC 093766750029) bags.
The recalled WolfKing food came in 4-pound (UPC 093766750050), 15-pound (UPC 093766750067)
and 28.5-pound (UPC 093766750081) bags.
Other Solid Gold recipes, sizes and brands are not
affected by the recall, the company reported.
The company urged pet owners with questions or
seeking replacement product to call it at 800-36-
-4863, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Pacific
time.
Solid Gold recalled the products, which were distributed in the U.S. and Canada, because they had
been made at the facility that had been linked to Salmonella contamination. No
