Builder Motion
The Building mechanism of Speed frame
is very complicated in the view of its
mechanical drive system.
So That is Why There was a big demand of
development in building motion.
Since Builder Motion has to perform so many task:
• Reduction in RPM of Bobbin (Through Shifting of Belt)
• Up-Down Movement of the bobbin Rail
• Shortening of the traverse length to make ends taper
• Long Gear Train Creating noise..
• If one gear is faulty then it lead to change the parameters
(Draft, Bobbin RPM etc.) by a great extent. That is not
desirable.
• Initially Shifting of the belt was done by Ratchet Wheel
which does not produce the required linear variation in
bobbin rotation speed.
• Spur gears are frequently damaged.(few teeth get
smashed)

Since To design Hyperbolic cones is difficult. So Ratchet and
Hyperbolic cones are replaced by Eccentric cam and straight
sided cones..
Now to achieve Linear variation in bobbin speed eccentric cams
are used with straight sided cones.

Ball bearings can spin in any direction due to their spherical shape. They
can support combined loads—loads from above (radial loads), as well as
side-to-side forces (axial loads). Ball bearings minimize rotational friction as
the races that contain the balls work to transmit the loads
Bush Bearings are replaced by ball bearing..

Advantage of helical gears over spur gears is in torque capacity. Spur
gears, by design, are weaker than helical gears because loads are
transmitted over fewer teeth. Helical gearing is machined with angled
teeth, then hardened and ground, which is complex but necessary to achieve
a high-efficiency gear mesh.

GearTrain Timing belt
Timing belt has many advantages over a Gear Train such as Less
noise, reduces maintenance cost, Less space, minimum energy…
Developments in Building Motion
Conventional Drive System Modern Drive System
Differential Gear Drive Electronic Servo Motor Drive
individual Motor drive
In conventional building mechanism source motion was
a single motor.
All the speed variations made from this motor RPM.
But in Modern scenario Individual Motor driving system
is used.
In which drafting rollers, flyers, bobbins and bobbin rail are driven
directly by individual servomotors and are synchronized
throughout package build by the control system
The advantages of this system are
• no need of heavy counter weight for bobbin rail balancing
• differential gear,
• reduced maintenance,
• lower energy consumption
• Accuracy in motion transfer is great.
All machine manufacturers incorporate four-motor-drive system
• Technological parameters like length of roving in
first layer, taper angle, no of layers, count, type
fibers- are fed to the control panel.
• Bobbin speed and Bobbin rail position are sensed
by electronic sensors.
• Tapering, rail movement etc. are controlled by
Computer.
• Operator is lead by operating menus and has all
important information all the time
• Adjustments can be stored, and transferred to
other machines.
