INTRODUCTION
In the July’19-September’19 quarter, large BFSI firms advertised positions on iimjobs for Finance, Consulting, IT &
Systems, HR, Sales & Marketing, Legal, Operations and BPO roles. The share of job postings for Sales & Marketing, IT &
Systems and HR roles witnessed an increase during July’19-September’19 quarter. Apart from this, there was a rise in
the share of job postings for finance roles in September’19 compared to August’19. The share of job postings for
Consulting roles also rose in August’19 compared to July’19.
Trending positions advertised during the quarter are as follows :
Associate Director - Compensation & Benefits (8-15 yrs.)
Job responsibilities : overall planning of compensation, designing compensation programs, development of training
material for the implementation of compensation programs and serving as an advisor to the HR in the area of
compensation design planning. The role was posted for Mumbai location and required potential candidates to possess
8 years + work experience in the domain of Compensation and Benefits along with a full time MBA degree.
Divisional Business Strategy Partner (5-8 yrs.)
Job responsibilities : development of short term and long term sales strategies for the Sales Management teams and
their wholesaling teams for increasing market share within the retail territories, creation of metrics for assessing the
results of the implemented strategies and continuous analysis of the current processes for refining sales strategy. The
role required the candidates to possess the minimum qualification of a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
Recruiters looked for more than 6 years of professional work experience in the financial services space. Strong
analytical and communication skills, knowledge of SAS and data mining, an excellent understanding of the products,
problem solving and decision making skills were required for the role. Apart from this, a Six Sigma Black Belt
certification was also desirable.
Chartered Accountant (0-2 yrs.)
Core job responsibilities : production of periodic US GAAP financial statements, production of the annual IFRS GAAP financial statements, profit and loss
reporting, balance sheet reporting and review of new business transactions. The role was posted for Pune location and required the potential candidates
to possess work experience in the range of 0 to 2 years.
Assistant Vice President - Legal Entity Accounting & Review (8-12 yrs.)
Job responsibilities : delivering of GAAP compliant core financials and baseline analytical review and being a point of contact to the Stakeholder Managers
for financial information related to a single or a group of legal entities. The role was posted for Pune location and candidates needed work experience in
the range of 8-12 years.
Manager - Corporate Credit Analysis - Global Analytical Center Division (7-14 yrs.)
Job responsibilities : Managing large teams, providing analytical guidance, assisting analysts in the preparation of segments of credit reports, client
management, full ownership of the service delivery and coaching team members. The role was advertised for Pune location. Recruiters looked for
candidates with prior experience of managing teams of atleast 2-4 members, interpersonal and relationship building skills, analytical skills, delegation
skills, excellent communication skills and client management skills. The essential qualification for this role was a two year full time MBA degree in
Finance or CA and work experience in the range of 7-14 years.
Manager - Structured Finance - RMBS/CMBS (6-11 yrs.)
Job responsibilities : Project Management, leading a team of analysts involved in surveillance of Structured Finance transactions across asset
classes, Client Management/Stakeholder Management, reviewing surveillance outputs and authenticating analyst's recommendation. Desired candidate
skills for the role were team leading skills, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, mentoring skills, sound understanding of the RMBS/ABS/CMBS/CDO
space with experience in deal financial modeling/ surveillance/ portfolio monitoring and credit analysis and excel skills. The essential qualification for
the role was an MBA or CA with about 6-10 years of experience in KPOs managing large teams or equivalent experience in structured finance with banks
or rating agencies.
HIRING BY FUNCTIONAL AREA
• There was a rise of 2.7 percentage points in the share of job
postings for Sales and Marketing roles from July’19 to
September’19.
• A rise of 2.6 percentage points in the share of job postings for HR
roles from July’19 to September’19, was also observed.
• The share of job postings for IT & Systems roles rose by 1.4
percentage points from July’19-September’19.
• 37.5% of the job postings of large BFSI firms from July’19-
September’19 were for Finance roles.
• The share of job postings for Consulting, IT & Systems, Sales and
Marketing, HR, BPO, Legal and Operations roles roles were
26.6%, 13.8%, 13.7%, 4.6%, 1.6%,1.4% and 0.8% respectively.
Apart from this, there was a rise of 1.5 percentage points in the share of job postings for Finance roles from August’19 to September’19, 1.1
percentage point rise in the share of job postings for Legal roles from July’19 to September’19 and 0.3 percentage point rise in the share of job
postings for Consulting roles from July’19 to August’19.

during July’19-September’19.
• In the work experience bracket of 0-6 years in finance domain, maximum number of job postings were for
Mumbai location , followed by Gurugram and Bangalore.
• In the 6-15 years work bracket, job postings were mostly for Mumbai location as well, followed by
Gurugram and Bangalore.
• For Consulting roles, Gurugram was the top location , followed by Mumbai and Bangalore during July’19-
September’19.
• In the work experience bracket of 0-6 years work experience, majority of the job postings were for
Gurugram location, followed by Mumbai and Bangalore.

too, followed by Mumbai and Bangalore.

• In the 6-15 years work experience bracket, maximum number of job postings were also for Gurugram
location , followed by Bangalore and Mumbai.

postings were for Finance roles.
• The share of job postings for Consulting, IT and Systems,
Sales & Marketing, HR, BPO, Legal and Operations roles
were 22.2%, 16.9%, 14%, 6%,1.5% , 1.5% and 1%
respectively.
• Maximum number of job postings were for Gurugram
location, followed by Mumbai and Bangalore.

INTRODUCTION In the July’19-September’19 quarter, large BFSI firms advertised positions on iimjobs for Finance, Consulting, IT & Systems, HR, Sales & Marketing, Legal, Operations and BPO roles. The share of job postings for Sales & Marketing, IT & Systems and HR roles witnessed an increase during July’19-September’19 quarter. Apart from this, there was a rise in the share of job postings for finance roles in September’19 compared to August’19. The share of job postings for Consulting roles also rose in August’19 compared to July’19. Trending positions advertised during the quarter are as follows : Associate Director - Compensation & Benefits (8-15 yrs.) Job responsibilities : overall planning of compensation, designing compensation programs, development of training material for the implementation of compensation programs and serving as an advisor to the HR in the area of compensation design planning. The role was posted for Mumbai location and required potential candidates to possess 8 years + work experience in the domain of Compensation and Benefits along with a full time MBA degree. Divisional Business Strategy Partner (5-8 yrs.) Job responsibilities : development of short term and long term sales strategies for the Sales Management teams and their wholesaling teams for increasing market share within the retail territories, creation of metrics for assessing the results of the implemented strategies and continuous analysis of the current processes for refining sales strategy. The role required the candidates to possess the minimum qualification of a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Recruiters looked for more than 6 years of professional work experience in the financial services space. Strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of SAS and data mining, an excellent understanding of the products, problem solving and decision making skills were required for the role. Apart from this, a Six Sigma Black Belt certification was also desirable.
  • 4. Chartered Accountant (0-2 yrs.) Core job responsibilities : production of periodic US GAAP financial statements, production of the annual IFRS GAAP financial statements, profit and loss reporting, balance sheet reporting and review of new business transactions. The role was posted for Pune location and required the potential candidates to possess work experience in the range of 0 to 2 years. Assistant Vice President - Legal Entity Accounting & Review (8-12 yrs.) Job responsibilities : delivering of GAAP compliant core financials and baseline analytical review and being a point of contact to the Stakeholder Managers for financial information related to a single or a group of legal entities. The role was posted for Pune location and candidates needed work experience in the range of 8-12 years. Manager - Corporate Credit Analysis - Global Analytical Center Division (7-14 yrs.) Job responsibilities : Managing large teams, providing analytical guidance, assisting analysts in the preparation of segments of credit reports, client management, full ownership of the service delivery and coaching team members. The role was advertised for Pune location. Recruiters looked for candidates with prior experience of managing teams of atleast 2-4 members, interpersonal and relationship building skills, analytical skills, delegation skills, excellent communication skills and client management skills. The essential qualification for this role was a two year full time MBA degree in Finance or CA and work experience in the range of 7-14 years. Manager - Structured Finance - RMBS/CMBS (6-11 yrs.) Job responsibilities : Project Management, leading a team of analysts involved in surveillance of Structured Finance transactions across asset classes, Client Management/Stakeholder Management, reviewing surveillance outputs and authenticating analyst's recommendation. Desired candidate skills for the role were team leading skills, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, mentoring skills, sound understanding of the RMBS/ABS/CMBS/CDO space with experience in deal financial modeling/ surveillance/ portfolio monitoring and credit analysis and excel skills. The essential qualification for the role was an MBA or CA with about 6-10 years of experience in KPOs managing large teams or equivalent experience in structured finance with banks or rating agencies.
  • 6. • There was a rise of 2.7 percentage points in the share of job postings for Sales and Marketing roles from July’19 to September’19. • A rise of 2.6 percentage points in the share of job postings for HR roles from July’19 to September’19, was also observed. • The share of job postings for IT & Systems roles rose by 1.4 percentage points from July’19-September’19. • 37.5% of the job postings of large BFSI firms from July’19- September’19 were for Finance roles. • The share of job postings for Consulting, IT & Systems, Sales and Marketing, HR, BPO, Legal and Operations roles roles were 26.6%, 13.8%, 13.7%, 4.6%, 1.6%,1.4% and 0.8% respectively. CONSULTING FINANCE IT & Systems • For IT & Systems roles, Gurugram was the top location , followed by Bangalore and Mumbai during July’19- September’19. • In the work experience bracket of 0-6 years , majority of the job postings were for Gurugram location, followed by Bangalore and Mumbai. • In the 6-15 years work experience bracket, maximum number of job postings were also for Gurugram location , followed by Bangalore and Mumbai.
