A sonnet by John Keats
To one who has been long 
       in city pent
 ’Tis very sweet to look into the f air   
And open f ace of heaven, —to breathe
a prayer
Full in the smile of the blue
f irmament.
Who is mor e happy, when, wit h hear t ’s cont ent ,  
  Fat igued he sinks int o some pleasant lair   
     Of wavy gr ass, and r eads a debonair
  And gent le t ale of love and languishment ?
Ret ur ning home
                 at evening wit h
                      an ear

Philomel . . .
An eye, watching the sailing
 cloudlet’s bright career,
He mour ns
t hat day
so soon
has glided
by
 E’en like t he passage of an angel’s
                   t ear   
 That f alls t hr ough t he clear et her
                 silent ly.
