2015-2016
A: Student Achievement: Academic Growth for All Students
Strategic Direction: Personalize instruction to maximize learning growth and proficiency
achievement for all students by increasing the use of multiple measures of educational data
and identifying each student’s needs.
District Student Achievement Goal:
During the 2014-2015 school year, students will achieve at least one year of academic growth.
District Q-Comp Goal:
By spring 2015, 72% of the students in grades 3-8 and 10 will be proficient as measured by the
MCA-III Reading assessment.
District Staff Development Goal:
District 885 will increase the use of formative data and research-based intervention strategies to
promote the academic growth of all students. The effective use of technology for strengthening these
practices will be encouraged and supported.
School Wide Site Student Achievement Goal(s):
During the 2014-2015 school year, 88% of first grade students were at a Level I as measured by
Literacy by Design Benchmarking Kit. During the 2015-2016 school year, 89% of first grade students will
be reading at Level I as measured by Literacy by Design Benchmarking Kit.
During the 2014-2015 school year, 80.8% of second through fourth grade students made their
targeted growth in the areas of reading and math based on NWEA data. During the 2015-2016 school
year, 82% of second through fourth grade students will make targeted growth in the areas of reading
and math based on NWEA data.
During the 2014-2015 school year, 69.8% of third and fourth grade students were proficient in
reading as measured by the Reading MCA III. During the 2015-2016 school year, 73% of third and fourth
grade students will be proficient in reading as measured by the Reading MCA III.

School Wide Site Student Achievement Staff Development Goal(s):
During the 2015-2016 school year, 100% of Fieldstone Elementary staff will increase the use of
formative data and research-based intervention strategies to promote the academic growth of all

2. Action Plan:
Staff will receive focused training in the areas of closed reading and technology during staff
development days throughout the school year. Specialists will continue to focus on reading vocabulary
during daily instruction. An emphasis on formative assessment and learning targets will be on ongoing.
Staff will also be given time during staff development days to develop and plan the implementation of
reading interventions. In addition, staff will review DIBELS, NWEA and MCA data to determine academic
success and area of need.
Evaluation Plan:
The Staff Development Team will meet in February to look at Benchmarking, NWEA and MCA III
Reading practice data to look for trends and/or deficiencies. This information will be presented
to staff during planned collaboration meetings. The Staff Development Team will meet again in
May to determine if the Benchmarking and NWEA goals have been met. The MCA III Reading
data will be examined in August.
B: School and Family Partnership
Strategic Direction: Continue to improve communications and accountability among teachers,
students and families.
District Student Achievement Goal:
Student achievement will be enhanced through increased partnership, communications and
accountability among families, students and staff.
District Staff Development Goal:
St. Michael-Albertville Schools will reach out to students and parents through communications, activities
and trainings designed to build a stronger partnership and increase the ownership of all parties in the
educational process.
Site Student Achievement Goal(s):
During the 2014-2015 school year student achievement will be enhanced through increased partnership,
communications and accountability among families, students and staff.
Site Staff Development Goal(s):
During the 2015-2016 school year, 75% of Fieldstone Elementary parents will agree or strongly agree
that the Fieldstone Elementary staff attempted to build a strong partnership and an increased
ownership in the educational process with families.
Action Plan:
Staff will continue the use of newsletters, websites, and a parent informational meeting to deliver
pertinent information about classroom procedures, instruction, and news to families. Online lessons
3. and links will continue to be a focus to assist parents in academic understanding. The Parent
Engagement Committee will continue to plan events to promote communication between families and
schools that will foster a solid educational process.
Evaluation Plan:
The Staff Development Team will meet monthly to revisit classroom and school-wide communication
strategies. A survey will be developed in May, by the Staff Development Team, for staff to evaluate the
effectiveness of the communication strategies, as well as determine any areas of future staff
development.
C: Build Community Relationship
Strategic Direction: Increase reciprocal community partnerships by utilizing the knowledge and
experiences of community members, exposing students to real work experiences, and
strengthening the connection between school and community.
District Student Achievement Goal:
District 885 schools will encourage students to become actively engaged members of their school and
community.
District Staff Development Goal:
St. Michael-Albertville Schools will nurture and maintain strong school/community relationships
by increasing the scope and impact of community partnerships.
Site Student Achievement Goal(s):
During the 2014-2015 school year Fieldstone Elementary staff will encourage students to become
actively engaged members of their school and community.
Site Staff Development Goal(s):
During the 2015-2016 school year, 100% of Fieldstone Elementary staff will nurture and maintain strong
school/community relationships by increasing the scope and impact of community partnerships.
Action Plan:
Fieldstone Elementary will organize two service projects which will include donations to the Hanover
Area Food Shelf (local) as well as one other organization to be determined. Speakers will be invited to
talk about the organizations and the impact of the service projects on the St. Michael-Albertville
community. Staff will lead lessons during Morning Meeting to help make connections to the students
and their community. In addition, each grade level will plan an event that will have a connection to the
community.
4. Evaluation Plan:
The Staff Development Team will meet monthly to revisit classroom and community involvement. A
survey will be developed in March, by the Staff Development Team, for staff to evaluate the usage of
morning meeting and its effectiveness of connecting the students to their community. Staff will also be
asked to provide feedback on this survey about the school-wide and grade level service projects.
