two reasons:
 The area of torque application is small and
depends on the twist effect of a relatively
small wire compared with the bulk of tooth.
 Because full thickness wire will prevent
sliding .019/.025 steel wires in .022 slot are

depending on the tolerances in bracket and
wire manufacturing and the amount of wire
