10. THE BOARD AND ASSOCIATION (1/4)
Our association was founded in 2010
By 6 founding branche –organisations
It was meant to strengthen the trade,
mainly through lobbying and research.
Remember: this was the time plants in
ofices were used to throw your old coffee
in and nobody ever thought they would
become fashionable.
11. THE BOARD AND ASSOCIATION (2/4)
13 years later our situation is completely
different.
Only three of the original organisations
are still involved and of those three only
one in a truly active manner: NILA.
We have 15 supplier-members and 16
individual members from countries that
are not represented through their
branche organisation.
And plants do not cease to be fashionable
12. THE BOARD AND ASSOCIATION (3/4)
But.. our articles are still constructed in
the old way!
This means we can have only one board
member that is not connected to a
branche cooperation.
And, the combination of member
organisations, suppliers and individual
members is not made as it should in the
articles.
13. THE BOARD AND ASSOCIATION (4/4)
We will organize a General Member
Meeting in january where we propose:
-a change in the board composition
-and an adaptation of our articles.
This will be in a hybrid online/offline
form so that you all can participate
and vote.
14. WHAT ABOUT THESE IDEAS? (1/3)
• We are good at our excursions and awards
• But we dan do much more.
• What about communities of practice?
• For instance
• around the Ficus/Plant import issue
• Around environmental and waste issues
• About recruiting?
• More ideas?
• Who wants to help developing them including the way this
knowledge can reach other members?
15. WHAT ABOUT THESE IDEAS? (2/3)

16. WHAT ABOUT THESE IDEAS? (3/3)
• Another idea: job exchange. Who likes to be part of this?
• And/or.
• Should we be more active as a lobbying organization?
• Do we need to do more with and about research?
• Do we need to do more about education? If so, what?
• Do you think we should or should not partner with f.e. ELCA or
Green Plants for Green Buildings?
• Can we create more opportunities for suyppliers?
• And: who wants to help?
17. OUR NEXT EXCURSION?
• To the Netherlands (again, but certainly with new projects)
in combination with Future Green City at 23-26 September
• To Katowice and Krakow
