I. CONTRIBUCIÓN DEL SÍLABO A LA FORMACIÓN PROFESIONAL
CONTRIBUTION OF ENGLISH I IN THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF A CHEF
This subject becomes the most important tool for students who desire to reach high goals
in their professional field since English is a Universal language.
It will allow students to have access to the most updated information in their study field, it
will help them to travel in order to get a specialization degree, and of course it will allow
them to find well-paid jobs and amazing opportunities in this country or abroad.
ENTAILMENT AND RELATION OF THE SUBJECT WITH OTHER DISCIPLINARY CONTENTS OF
THE CURRICULA
There is a close relationship among all the curricula subjects because students will find a
variety of topics in this syllabus which keep relationship with each other.
In that way, students can bring to the class their background knowledge to make the most
in their English lessons. On the other hand, they can contribute with their knowledge to the
rest of the curricula subjects. Also, they will be able to find and understand updated
information which is not available in their mother tongue.
TYPE OF TRAINING OF THE SUBJECT AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE OBJECTIVES OF
THE INSTITUTION AND CAREER
As all the Universities around the world, Uniandes intends to provide its professionals all
the necessary tools to succeed in the competitive world we are living in. Students will be
able to solve problems and provide solutions as well as creative new ideas in order to
benefit the whole society. The objectives of the University are mostly to work with
professional staff and form professional people who will make the difference in this
changing world.

eating passions and local dishes.
Distinguish different kinds of personality
and arts.
MEDIUM Discuss the positive and negative sides
of people´s personality as well as
different kinds of art.
Explain the good sides of technology. MEDIUM Recognize computer parts, terms,
commands and the different internet
uses.
Analyze the importance of values. MEDIUM Analyze the importance of personal
values and acts of honesty and
kindness.
