Editor's Notes

  1. First version engineered & built for the cloud, then tweaked for On-Prem
  2. RTW - Release to Web
  3. Windows 2012 R2 & 10 are the only two choices. From a SQL perspective, 2012 is no longer supported. SQL Server 2014 and vNext are the only versions supported.
  4. In 2013, Microsoft said they supported database sizes for any usage scenario up to 200GB, and under certain specific conditions they would support databases up to 4TB in size.
  5. Project server now runs within SharePoint, instead of “on top of” OneDrive improvements. Cobalt is GONE, now it’s IIS BITS – Better, because it works on all file types
  6. Authentication: Azure AD connect. Version of SQL: 2014 SP2 – Not required, but recommended to simplify the process – SP2 DB model much closer to where 2016 will be Hybrid BCS - http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Ignite/2015/BRK4113 Hybrid Search - http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Ignite/2015/BRK3134
