Ask the students” What is the role of Chemistry to Society and Industry? We will answer that differently. Let’s form three groups:Group one will be the oral/ auditory Group2. Group two will be the kinesthetic group3. Group three will be the visual group
1. For the Oral/ Auditory Group, make a YELL!!! Make a one- phrase yell that tells your answer.2. For the Kinesthetic group, make a Pantomime that tells your answer.3. For the Visual Group, make a sculpture- show a human sculpture that depicts your answer
Make the students take down notes using the Double Journal Entry. Students will write the specific words/ lecture given by the teacher on the left side of the notebook. On the right side, students will write or draw how they understand the lecture. You have to pause after discussing each point and its details to give students time for filling up the right column with how they understand the specific point
Do you need to study chemistry? Many of you are asking why you have to take chemistry as a part of your formal study. Can you honestly give the correct answers to the many questions in your mind? Do you know how to answer questions such as ; What is the relationship between the substances we eat, drink or breathe, and the possibility of developing lung cancer or high blood pressure? Why was papaya become more popular as a skin whitener? There are many processes you may have observed being done, but you do not understand. You will come to comprehend many more things when you study chemistry.
Chemistry deals with these questions: What is matter made of? What is its the composition and internal structure? How does it behave when cooled, heated or mixed with other elements? Chemistry try to answer these questions in their work.
