But instead of quitting I started studying sales… my sales territory became my laboratory… and I began to succeed… I’m so glad I stuck it out… because it is now one of the most valuable business skills I’ve been able to develop…and things will get better for you too with the right strategies…A lot of the people I’ve worked with over the last 18 years were probably right where you are now… wanting more sales and wondering how to make it happen.

Here are a few of the biggest problems that business owners and sales people face with selling- Generating interest from quality prospects (potential A-Grade clients)- Setting solid appointments- Getting the prospect to open up and let you in on the secrets that will get them to buy- Clinching the sale, bringing it across the line… getting the cashAchieving client loyalty and repeat profitsWhen you are struggling with sales and looking for ways to improve, it’s not enough to say “any sale will do”… you want to focus on ways to attract A-Grade clients. A-Grade clients do the following for your business;- They bring great profit- They are easy to do business with- They appreciate value and quality service and are prepared to pay for it- They repeat purchase- They refer other A-Grade prospectsThese are the types of prospects and ultimately clients that you want for your business… these are the only types of clients that can give you a balance of time and money in your business…You know I’ve often asked my audiences of small business owners this question…“What it would mean to your business and lifestyle if youcould double your number of A-Grade clients and let go of ALL of their C-Grade clients (refer the C-Graders to your competition).?”The response is overwhelming… tonnes more profit, much more spare time, sooooo much less stress and frustration – many, many answers like that which all mean more enjoyment, happiness, spare time and profit in business.

So let’s now take a quick helicopter view of 3 simple steps to overcome all of these problems – 3 simple ways to become clear, comfortable and confident in your B2B selling approach and to set quality appointments with A-Grade prospects and convert profitable sales like never before…Step 1: Develop a new identity for yourself in sales… move from ‘convincing/proving’ to leading. The best performing sales people lead their prospects from dissatisfaction to delight. When you get that mind-set… everything will change about how you communicate in sales. And when this happens much of the resistance you currently experience will disappear.A-Grade Prospected DO want you to lead them to the solution, they want you to relieve their pain and frustrations, to help them meet their goals… so focus on changing the way you see yourself in sales and begin to lead the prospect rather than try to ‘convince’ them.
  5. Step 2: Build an irresistible pot of honey for your prospects… then automate it. The key here is that prospects are pushing the sales person out of the front end of the sales process. They prefer to do their own research and educate themselves on what they are about to purchase. But... who is the best person to educate them… you… you’re the expert in solving the prospects problems and you have the products and services to do it.
  6. Your knowledge on how to solve the prospects problems, when packaged correctly is like an irresistible pot of honey to your prospect.You can package your knowledge into a Special 3-page report or a 2 minute video and many other ways. And the key to this is to think “How To” and “Pain Relief” … they want your knowledge on how to relieve their pain…
  7. OK Step 3: Lean the secrets of high converting sales meeting and proposals. Now if you’ve ever been to a session on closing the sale, you probably sat in your seat and felt a bit ‘creaped out’… you may have been thinking I’m not saying that or doing that to my prospects!I agree with you 100%... if it feels pushy to you, then it is… trust your gut and don’t do anything that is going to give you a bad reputation.You want to be authentic in selling… you want prospects to feel comfortable talking to you about their challenges… not to be wary of you because you are being too pushy.When you have the identity of a leader, you can lead your prospects through a problem solving process… you can use great quality questions and advanced listening skills to find out exactly why the prospect will by your product/service…. and indeed if they won’t… this saves you from wasting time doing proposals and following up with prospects who aren’t going to buy.

Your ability to lead the sales meeting and uncover the REAL reasons why a prospect will buy is often the missing piece of the puzzle for many people in sales.Once you can master the leadership process of sales meetings and you know the anatomy of a winning written sales proposal, you’ll never look back.
