2. NICCOLO MACHIAVELLI He was born on 3 May 1469 in Florence, Italy. He was the third son of his father, Bernardo di Niccolò Machiavelli, and his wife, Bartolommea di Stefano Nelli. He died on 21 June 1527.
3. NICCOLO MACHIAVELLI His most popular work was The Prince which is widely considered on of the most influential books ever written. It was written in 1513 but wasn’t published until 1532. Many of the tenets found in The Prince are found in Western political practices.
4. NICCOLO MACHIAVELLI The Discourses on Livy was written from 1513-1517. Its purpose was to show how a successful republic should be run. Many of the tenets found in The Discourses are found in Western political theory.
5. NICCOLO MACHIAVELLI The Art of War was written between 1519-1520. Its purpose was to the change the military theory of Florentine rulers. The Art of War was the only book Machiavelli had published in his lifetime.
