3. Dear Mrs Venton,
I want to stop reading this book because I think
most people aren’t enjoying it and we are probably
not ready for it. It’s like for seniors because it has
19 chapters. I don’t think it’s boring, I just don’t
enjoy it. Also I think that we should read School
Journals still. I don’t like this book because it does
not have many pictures. The words are really
interesting but not my type. I kind of like books like
these books but this is for like boys and tom boys.
But if I was a tom boy I would have liked it. I don’t
like reading books with lots of chapters.

I don’t like this book because…we should have a
new book every week.

Plus, it just goes on and on about finding Lizba’s
skull. I’m already up to chapter 7, for heaven’s
sake! Besides, we haven’t even read Book 1.

problems. I don’t like the plot
and I don’t understand the

I think we should keep going with the book
because I think it’s really interesting. They
do lots of things. It’s also good because it
happens in the future, not in the past. My
favourite character is Tom because lots of
things happen to him. I am enjoying the
book because it’s got lots of good words and

I think we should stop reading the book
because it is very boring. I think it is
boring because of what it’s about. I
really hate the part where it says “I
spent most of my years having tests and
feeling worse and worse” because it
reminds me of when I was in hospital.
So please can I have another book.

I think you should stop the book because it’s way
too boring. We’ve had this book for ages. Please
can I stop this book and carry onto another book
because I really don’t like the characters. Please
can you give me an interesting book. In our group,
not many kids enjoyed it. I don’t like the bit where
the wet suit man, Baz, was following Tom and I
don’t like it when Dr Pennyfather doesn’t want Tom
to come inside.
Please, oh please can we change. I don’t want to
keep on reading this book.
