2. Objectives
• To make the students learn how to
frame questions in English.
• To help the students to converse in
English by using question-answer
method.
• To enable the students to enhance their
communication skills in English.

Introspection

4. Purposes of Questions
• The purposes that we list include
• (1) seeking information
• (2) making a request
• (3) beginning a conversation
• (4) making a comment on a situation
• (5) checking knowledge to find out if
someone knows something accurately.
5. Forming Questions: 2 Types
• Yes/ No Questions • WH Questions
What is a question?
A question is a sentence that asks
for information.
6. • Inverting the subject and the verb
• To Form Yes /No questions, you simply put the
auxilliary - verb TO BE in front of the subject:
• Examples:
• He is an Indian - Is he an Indian?
• Jacob is on leave - Is Jacob on leave?
• Raja is in the classroom - Is Raja in the classroom?
• The children are hungry - Are the children hungry?
• You are tired - Are you tired?
• It is an interesting film - Is it an interesting film?
