China's Membership Of Wto
Introduction In 2001, China became one of the last countries to join the World Trade
Organization(WTO). In accordance with WTO rules, which will ensure the integration of China into
the world economy in addition to offering a more predictable environment for trade and foreign
investment, China equally agreed to undertake a series of significant commitments that will not only
open its economy but will also liberalize its regime. In this paper, I will examine the impact of
China's membership of WTO. A fundamental premise to begin this analysis is to examine why
China needs WTO. China Versus WTO – Potential Benefits China can be considered to be a
significant success story due to its explosive economic expansion over the past two decades. The
country is equally a prosperous one given that its growth rate which averages nearly 10 percent per
year and which has created a vast array of new investment and job opportunities – a growth rate that
was fuelled by the county's various reform efforts. It is important to note here that Chinese
government's strategy was to transform the country from a planned economy to a more market–
oriented economy. This strategy have made China to influence almost everything in the global
economy because its reforms upgraded the country's status to that of a trading powerhouse whose
activities has reverberated throughout the world market(Adhikari & Yongzheng, 2002; Hertel &
Walmsley, 2000; Ianchovichina & William, 2002; Rambaugh & Blanche, 2004).

The Reasons for Gang Membership
Introduction The reasons as to why people join gangs are many and varied. Indeed, this has over
time proven to be an issue of interest amongst many developmental psychologists. Familiarizing
ourselves with the various reasons for gang membership could ease the development of programs
meant to bring down the number of individuals joining gangs. Further, this could in the long–term
turn out to be a step in the right direction as far as the suppression of gang activity is concerned. It is
important to note that there exists an urgent need to discourage membership to gangs given the
damage such groupings occasion to the society. Apart from raising crime rates, gangs are in most
cases also blamed for encouraging drug use given the role they play in drug trade. It is however
important to note that though quite a number of reasons have been advanced in an attempt to explain
why individuals join gangs, the role household instability plays in influencing gang membership is
more often than not underplayed. This effectively means that in seeking to explain the various
reasons for gang membership, issues like the need for protection, economic benefit, influence from
friends etc have been given more prominence than household instability. In basic terms, household
instability can be explained using wide range of scenarios. Generally, family stability has to do with
all those factors within the family which contribute towards the healthy development of a child. In
that regard,

Home Job Board Memberships
If you've read much about looking for work at home jobs, you've probably often heard that you
should never pay for a work at home job. That's absolutely true, in the sense that you shouldn't be
paying a company to "prove" that you're serious about applying for a job with them. There are,
however, legitimate expenses you may have as you pursue a good home based job. Work at Home
Job Board Memberships You can find work at home job leads for free, but it's time consuming and
often difficult to tell the scam ads from the legitimate employers. A good job board can be worth the
purchase because they filter out the job leads for you, putting them in one place without paid
advertising. I do not mean all paid work at home job boards are worth it. ... Show more content on

That costs money, either now or at some time in the past. There's nothing wrong with paying for the
education required to get a job – that's necessary for many jobs both at home our outside the home.
There can be a problem if the employer says you have to pay them or the exact program they tell
you for the job. Sometimes that's a scam. That said, some companies such as Arise are legitimate
enough, but are more business opportunity than work at home job, and you do have to pay for
training. Read my interview with Arise to learn more about how this can work, and be careful if any
company is asking you to pay them for training. They must have an excellent opportunity before you
consider such a thing. Overall, this means that yes, you can have expenses associated with your
search for a work at home job, and they can be legitimate. Just make sure you know why you're
paying someone and that it really will help you to get a good job. Too many people pay for things to
help them work from home, and all that happens is that their money disappears and they're
frustrated. Use caution and things should turn out

Decline of Union Membership Essay
Organized labor has seen a long and ever changing history in the United States. What began as
minimal organized labor movement catapulted into astronomical union membership rates as the
nation grew and developed. The intense power unions possessed only lasted so long and in the years
since 1970, union membership in the United States has collapsed. This paper will examine the most
significant reasons for the decline in membership. In brief, organizational redesigns, the
development of technology and substantial public policy changes have all contributed to the drop in
affiliation rates. In addition, policy suggestions will be provided in an attempt to support the
continuation of the trend. Much of the research regarding this topic refers to ... Show more content

In 1913, Congress created the United 3 State Department of Labor as a direct result of pressure from
organized labor (MacLaury). Shortly after the creation of the Department of Labor, the Great
Recession hit the nation. With the depression came an increased unemployment and lesser wages
however significant legislation was also created during that time that impacted union membership.
The most significant law was the Fair Labor Standards Act. Following shortly after this FLSA, the
United States amended the Equal Pay Act and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Occupations
Health and Safety Act of 1970. Although these acts were supported by the power of unions, these
acts in particular impact union membership which will be discussed later in the paper. It was at this
time in the nation's history that unions began to see a decline in membership. Unions today cast a
wide umbrella of membership and consist of trade unions such as the International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers and the Laborers International Union of North America to service unions such as
the United Food and Commercial Workers. Although their membership has declined, unions that
were once affiliated with a defined group skilled labor employees now can be found in almost any
industry representing any group of employees. There is significant data that tracks union

Anytime Membership
Anytime, Like the Fitness Center Many things throughout high school have affected my life. One in
particular thing stands out over all of the rest. This one thing is getting a membership at anytime
fitness. Getting this membership was the best idea I came up with in the last year or so. It became
my favorite hobby to do. It really has changed my life. There are many reasons how and why getting
a membership as impacted and changed my life.
First, the main reason why I got an Anytime membership was because I wanted to get stronger. I
wanted to get stronger because at the end of the school year during track season I realised how much
I really liked throwing. I wanted to throw farther, the best way to do this was get stronger and work
harder. Taking high school weights just wasn't enough i wasn't getting anywhere. Therefore, I got an
Anytime membership and began to work out there. I worked as hard as I thought I could i gained
muscle, became, stronger, and starting throwing farther. I went through my Junior track season went

Image Fusion Technique Based on PCA and Fuzzy Logic Part 2...
mage fusion based on fuzzy sets
The fuzzy logic approach is widely used in image process–ing. The fuzzy logic gives decision rules
and fusion motivation for image fusion [17]. the two inputs images are converted into membership
values based on a set of predefined MFs, where the degree of membership of each input pixel to a
fuzzy set is determined. Then, the fusion operators are applied to the fuzzified images. The fusion
results are then converted back into pixel values using defuzzification.
1) Fuzzy sets: The fuzzy sets are used to describe the gray levels of the input images. we have two

Union Membership Decline
The research will analyze the causes of union membership decline in the United States. Throughout
the years unionization has been on the decline and will need to discover new ways to get members
to join. Unions will need to focus on marketing campaigns to gain membership.
Causes for Decline
There can be numerous explanations to why there is a detrimental decline for union memberships.
Some of the major reasons for a decline in union membership include the following:
Globalization: can attribute towards the decline for union memberships, as a competitive workforce
is shrinking and being divided. During the 'great recession' businesses couldn't afford the high wages
and benefit packages of an increasing world economy to stay competitive (Voice ... Show more

However, the government has been eliminating most union rights for government workers (Wilson,
2017). President Richard Trumka of the AFL–CIO has stated, "our struggling economy, weak laws
and government assaults have taken a toll on union memberships" (Wilson, 2017).
Laws: are persistent to guarantee employee rights and standards have been protected and addressed
through local, state and federal legislation. Recent anti–labor legislation in several states has limited
collective bargaining rights; impact union membership (Anderson & Bowen, 2013). Public policy
has hindered union memberships. The first labor laws were written during the Great Depression and
have seldomly changed (Wilson, 2017). Republicans are wanting to do away with union dues to
accelerate union membership but will put pressure on labor unions to collectively bargain in
projects.

CALEA or the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies is an accrediting body
which law enforcement agencies may voluntarily submit an application to for membership and
accreditation. The "accreditation program provides public safety agencies an opportunity to
voluntarily demonstrate that they meet an established set of professional standards" (Law
Enforcement Accreditation, n.d.). Membership in CALEA requires that the applying agency
successfully completes the application process meeting all required standards and "80 percent of the
non–prescribed regulations" (Doerner, 2012) or electives. Once an agency's completed application
has been submitted and fees paid, a CALEA assessment team is dispatched to the agency for a site

Accreditation, n.d.) and in addition to the cost to the agency in man–hours to complete the process,
taking from 12 to 18 months, it is clear to see why many agencies may call into question the
professional benefits of such an organization. As a result, some states have devised accreditation

Membership Groups Sociology
In sociology there is great emphasis placed on the role of membership groups. By grouping similar
features, membership groups help identify social patterns associated with certain characteristics.
Membership groups are classified into two types: primary and secondary groups. Primary groups are
characterized by intimate and long lasting relationships. Contrarily, secondary groups are normally
larger, relatively short lived, and not as intimate as primary groups (pg 127–129). However,
sociology also places great importance on the influence of reference groups. Reference groups are
used as a standard for evaluating values, attitudes, and behaviors (pg129). Unlike membership
groups, reference groups define the social patterns of specific groups. ... Show more content on

Younger generations will reference the life experiences of older generations for a rough timeline of
life milestones. Although the specific combinations of age and life milestones vary among cultures,
there are always certain behaviors that become appropriate with a certain age. Iconic celebrations in
different cultures like sweet sixteen, quinceaneras, bar/bat mitzvah etc. all mark the end of
childhood and the coming of age. Younger generations may observe more adult behavior and begin
to prepare for responsibilities like becoming an independent person. Referencing appropriate
behavior with age groups also works in the other direction. In the United States culture, being
economically dependent on parents is acceptable for individuals before graduation but it is frowned
upon at older age because it is associated with immaturity. This is an example of how older
generations reference the younger generations to avoid certain negative characteristics.
Celebrities often times serve as reference group for all kinds of people. Celebrities are a powerful
reference group because they tend to be glorified by individuals. People seeking the glamour of
celebrities will mimic their fashion or life style. A person who regularly follows the life of models
will wear similar clothes and aim to achieve a certain body type. Majority of pop culture trends can

For one, while the current system may allow the organization to curry many 'checkbook members' or
members whose sole attachment to the organization is that they periodically contribute financially,
there are additional membership tactics that the group could employ to further drive up membership
and the number of active members. One thing that the organization could do, in addition or perhaps
in place of the current membership system would be to host membership events in which potential
and current members could meet in order to socialize and learn more about the organization. By
making these events free, low–pressure and socially enjoyable, the organization could effectively
harness the networks of existing members, co–opt people who are on the fence about joining and
even provide additional solidarity benefits to current and potential members. By providing material
benefits, such as beverages and food, at such recruitment events, material benefits could help to
entice even more new members and perhaps facilitate a more enthusiastic disposition towards the

Bion documented three behaviors that occur during dissonance as; (1) dependence, (2) fight–flight,
and (3) pairing (Bright, 2011). Dependence in a group is seen as members blaming someone or
something else for their awkward feeling and either becoming dysfunctional when the group
becomes overly dependent on members, or having a positive outcome if the group comes together
and rallies to succeed (Bright, 2011). I experienced both sides of dependence when my former
employer made major changes to the leadership of the organization. The leader that was put in place
was rarely there and had a separate agenda from the organization. At first a few of us banded
together to keep things at status quo, but after a while we gave up and I became emotionally
detached from the organization. Fight–flight behavior is evident when there is ambiguity. Disruptive
conflict between members of the group is the fight aspect and the flight aspect is when members'
mentally shut down and no longer participate in the group (Bright, 2011). Neither behavior is
productive in a group, but can be turned into a positive if recognized and dealt with proactively;
communication is the key. During the reorganization mentioned above, there were several disruptive
conflicts that resulted in terminations. Becoming emotionally detached wasn't a bad thing for me on

The Role of Membership Fees on Public Goods
INTRODUCTION:
Public goods are goods that are neither excludable, nor rival in consumption. Excludability means
the extent the consumption of a good is limited, while rival refers to the extent the consumption of a
particular good limits the consumption of others who wants to consume that particular good.
However, some goods do not have both characteristics these goods are called pure public goods,
meanwhile others have either of the characteristics, they can be referred to as, club goods, local
public goods, common resources. Also, some goods are characterized as rival and excludable in
consumption, these goods are called private goods. Also, clubs goods, local public goods are refers
to as quasi–public goods, although they may seem as public goods there very nature are not pure
public goods. This paper will focus more on public goods, as it will be used to explore the under
supply of public goods provision (Mcnutts 1991,930). The prominent characteristics of club goods
is its excludability factor, which might signify unequal distribution of the club goods, however, the
club goods can be said to be somewhat rivalrous as shown in table 1, this is because club goods can
create a sense of rivalry for individuals outside the club. Moreover, for individuals inside the club
there might be rivalry in consumption when a point of congestion is reached. The club theory

have increased in size and complexity and national society depends heavily upon a high level of
power system reliability. When the bulk transmission system is subjected to large disturbances there
is the possibility of a system wide blackout due to cascading outages. After a partial blackout or
system breakdown condition, restoring power system is needed and then power needs to be restored
as quickly, stability and reliability as possible and consequently. Outage time after extensive
blackouts depends very much on the power system restoration process. Power system restoration is

the rise of gym memberships. Strenuous exercise is advocated by pretty much any medical
professional as a strong way to get into better overall health. However, not everyone has the time
and resources necessary to put themselves into a potentially expensive, time–consuming gym
membership, pick out bulky work out equipment for their home, or run themselves red and ragged
with hours of cardio. Enter HIIT, or short burst High Intensity interval training. With HIIT, you
exercise in a short, powerful burst, then rest to recover before repeating the process for a set time.
Here are four reasons why making the choice to put HIIT into your life could ... Show more content

2. Don't Need to Buy Expensive Equipment
While some equipment is useful for the goal of working on building muscle and strength, i.e.:
dumbbells and barbells, you don't need to go all out. In fact, it's not uncommon for some to not use
any kind of equipment at all, just time, effort, and an able body. For those wanting more specific,
work intensive results, then yes, invest in a nice set of barbells, or dumb bells, but don't feel the need
that you have to splurge on more items than strictly necessary to get your desired results.
3. Some Exercises Focuses More on Strength Building than Cardio
Cardio is important, yes, but it's not the end–all–be–all for physical fitness, especially the steady
state cardio that could require hours and hours a week for investment. Even if you aren't really
hunkering down to get a get bulky muscles, it's important to invest time to at the very least have
some degree of upper body strength, which HIIT can provide. This is less building muscle, and more
burning calories by building lean muscle tissue in the body. Both steady state cardio and HIIT are
actually roughly comparable over the long term in terms of burning calories, but HIIT can allow for
upper body exercises, though push ups and weight lifting, so that you can choose to focus more on
strength

Social Influences Of Female Gang Membership
Within the last decades, gangs have become one of the fastest growing issues in the United States.
When most people define gangs, females are not part of the definition. Most government officials
and researchers do not see females a contributor to the fasting growth of gangs in the United States
when in fact, the number of females associated with gangs is constantly increasing. Female gang
membership in the United States is estimated to be between 10 and 35 percent of the gang
population, with some studies showing the numbers to be as high as 20 to 46 percent of the gang
population (De La Rue & Espelage, 2014). Female gang membership is a problem that most people

Joining gangs is a way to make friends and belong to a group where you are accepted by most (if not
all) its members. A young female without friends is a prisoner in her own world, there is no
consistent interaction with people and often feel like they are living a miserable life. The fun and
wildness of gang membership are also an attraction for females, being able to have fun, go out to
parties, trying out different drugs, doing careless things, and the adrenaline of doing bad things and
not getting caught is very fun for most female gangsters (Carrasco, 1999). Gang membership offer
females an opportunity to experience new things and be accepted by people who will not be just
consider your friends but instead your brothers and sisters.
Social class which relates to economic status, is among the top contributors for female gang
membership. Females that come from low–income families are more likely to join gangs. Gang
membership offers females an opportunity to make quick cash to fill their economic needs through
the sale of drugs in the streets. In fact, the main source of income for most gangs is the sale of drugs,
in most cases, is also their only way to overcome poverty. Drug offenses are one of the most
common offenses committed by female gang members (Moore & Hagedorn, 2001). Robbery is
another source of income for most gangs; some gangs also charge nearby stores protection fees,
which are fees for protecting the neighborhood in which the store is

Snap Membership Cards
Retailers across the nation now offer their customers loyalty or reward cards. Membership cards
provide the user with discounts, specials and other perks, but only when they are convenient to us .If
they become a hassle, the customer may choose to go to a competitor who doesn't require this type
of ID. Snap membership cards are a great alternative, as they conveniently sit on the user's key

In the past, paper cards were popular with many store. Unfortunately, these cards would disintegrate
over time, especially when they were frequently used, and they wouldn't hold up when washed or
otherwise used in a way they weren't intended. This would require a new card to be issued, making
it harder for the business to track consumer behavior. All of these problems are resolved when
plastic membership cards are provided.
Available Options
The customer retains control over the information to be included on the card. Most companies opt to
include their business name and logo along with a membership ID number or the client's name. In
addition, the card may also have a magnetic strip, a QR code or a bar code, which allows the
business to gather information about the consumer and his or her behavior.

Limiting Membership In Freemasonry
Failing to Meet the Criteria of Adequacy/ Appropriateness: In Freemasonry, the Masonic Lodges has
continued to maintain an old tradition of limiting membership in Freemasonry to only men.
According to Masonic Service Association, to petition for membership, the petitioner must be "a
man of legal age, good reputation, and possess a belief in God" ("Freemasonry and Brotherhood").
The majority of Freemasons today believe that the concept of women becoming Masons for any
reason is an anathema. This is because the tradition is based on the historical all male only
membership of stonemason's guilds; not because of sexist motives (King, "What about Women in
Freemasonry?"). However, Masons have been making membership possible for women today to

Essay On Growing Membership
Perhaps FOE's relaxed policies towards membership are an effort to retain younger membership
such as my millennial self. Another foreboding revelation I've discovered is the rapidly approaching
closure of the baby boomer generation. Coincidently, most of the Eagles members I've encountered
are baby boomers. Retirements brought a price of losing valuable experience and insight among
businesses of boomers previously (Delong, 2004). I believe the same concept holds true to the
Eagles as they are threatened to lose the backbone of their membership. To me, the Fraternity serves
as a throwback of prior generations of strong Unions and dedicated workers. As with Delongs
(2004) discovery, FOE depends on retention strategy to retain its boomer ... Show more content on

I initially found it awkward that people would just go somewhere to just socialize. Nevertheless,
once I suspended my judgements to partake in this activity of replacing face book technology with

prompt responses to feel secure among friends by getting "likes;" at the club however, one feels
secure just being surrounded by friends. Adaptation After transitioning through Bennett's 6 phases of
ethno–relativity, I've recently transitioned to its integration phase after adaptation by becoming a
member myself (Milton Bennett, 1993). I enjoy the benefits of volunteering for an organization of a
greater cause while simultaneously immersing within the subculture that serves alongside me. I've
discovered that direct service doesn't always have to be carried out in some grand elaborate fashion,
but a consistent willingness to lend a helping hand or an ear. Martin and Nakayama (2012) states
'one important area where intercultural communication can be productively applied is community
engagement." I'm happy to discover the Eagles provide a sort of one stop shop for all aspects of
community engagement via donations, volunteering for laborious tasks and simply providing good

Research on Gang Membership
Research Design and Methodology Those interviewed in the study included a Gang Task Force
Officer, a Patrol Deputy, a Criminal Investigator Detective, a Juvenile Detention Officer, a Probation
Officer and, a CPS Worker. The Gang Task Force Officer was selected due to the first hand
knowledge members of the task force have on gangs. Gang Task Force Officers are also highly
trained to enhance enforcement efforts by collaborating with both federal and state law enforcement
agencies in an attempt to stamp out gang activity. Primarily, gangs remain the primary focus of the
Gang Task Force Officers and in that regard; members of the task force are charged with the
investigation of the background as well as activity of gangs. Thus members of the task force in this
case also possess firsthand knowledge regarding families of gang members. Thus a member of the
task force can be viewed as an asset to this study. The Patrol Deputy was selected due to the crucial
role such an officer plays when it comes to the control as well as suppression of both gang activity
and family violence. Basically, a patrol deputy is charged with the apprehension of offenders as well
as the reduction of criminal activities through the enforcement a wide range of measures including
but not limited to preventive patrol. In regard to Gangs, the Patrol Deputy responds first and
completes a profile which is then utilized by the Gang Task Force in the ensuing proceedings. Hence

Classification Between The Objects Is Easy Task For Humans
Classification between the objects is easy task for humans but it has proved to be a complex
problem for machines. The raise of high–capacity computers, the availability of high quality and
low–priced video cameras, and the increasing need for automatic video analysis has generated an
interest in object classification algorithms. A simple classification system consists of a camera fixed
high above the interested zone, where images are captured and consequently processed.
Classification includes image sensors, image preprocessing, object detection, object segmentation,
feature extraction and object classification. Classification system consists of database that contains
predefined patterns that compares with detected object to classify in to proper category. Image
classification is an important and challenging task in various application domains, including
biomedical imaging, biometry, video surveillance, vehicle navigation, industrial visual inspection,
robot navigation, and remote sensing. Fig. 1.1 Steps for image classification Classification process
consists of following steps a) Pre–processing– atmospheric correction, noise removal, image
transformation, main component analysis etc. b) Detection and extraction of a object– Detection

A Social Construction Of Fraternity Membership
Fraternity membership is associated with (heterosexual) masculinity in that fraternity members are
believed to attract and date more women. However, Fraternity membership serves as a medium for
building fraternal bonds of brotherhood between Black males, which creates a more Afro–centric
masculinity (McGuire et al., 2014). Jackson (2012) defined brotherhood as ''a social construction
that creates feelings of togetherness and trust while defining a code for interactions among men'' (p.
64) that provides a physical, psychological, and social space for men to distance themselves from
typical hegemonic behavior (McGuire et al., 2014). Jackson (2012) found that this bond allowed
males to share an emotional bond with other members where they ... Show more content on

For example: In the music videos, I saw women being mistreated. I can't knock someone's hustle but
I don't think artists need to take their videos to the extreme. I didn't feel like Biggie, Tupac, and
Cash Money [popular artists in the early 90s] were as fixated on the women. They were more about
showing off their money and cars, and clothes. (Roberts–Douglass & Curtis–Boles, 2012, p. 10)
Academics Black students are often dissatisfied with their campus climate (Harper, 2013). Black
students often entered PWIs expecting to experience racism at some point. Furthermore, Harper
(2013) found that Black students, on average, make–up approximately 5.3% the total enrollment at
20 of the largest universities in the United States. This positions most Black students to sit in classes
where there are no other Black students, especially for Black males, STEM majors, and students in
honors courses. The impact of being alone and feeling isolated is captured in what Harper et al.
(2011) refers to as onlyness–"the psycho–emotional burden of having to strategically navigate a
racially politicized space occupied by few peers, role models, and guardians from one's same racial
or ethnic group" (p. 190). Experiencing onlyness leads to further isolation in that individuals
experience stereotype threat or the fear of fulfilling behaviors related to negative stereotypes about
members of a social group. Stereotype threat leads to self–conscious and inauthentic behavior.

Membership In Fraternities And Sororities
The decrease in membership in fraternities and sororities has occurred due to negative
representation in media and criminal reputations. However, students should join fraternities and
sororities because together they can do work for charities, volunteer, and fundraise. Students should
also become members to be a part of a group life in which you are essentially guaranteed lifelong
friendships and a thriving social life. Although the monetary cost may be high and the superficial
representation in media makes fraternity and sorority members look daft and trouble–making, the
benefits to membership include helping out communities and being held responsible for your
academic and extracurricular activities. The words fraternity and sorority can define any group of
men and women that come together to form a club, but the words are well–known for college Greek
life organizations. Fraternities and sororities are known for their private imitations and rules, which
sometimes can only be learned about by becoming a part of the club. The College of William and

unseemly behaviors, but that does not represent the entire

Prosocial Behavior And Group Memberships
Prosocial behaviour is doing something intended to benefit others or society (Myers 2008) and the
relationship between prosocial behaviour and group memberships is significant and research had
been carried out to provide evidence relating to this. Social psychologists have shown that different
elements of group membership have important implications for our thoughts and behaviour. Levine
and Manning (2013) considered four key elements which are combined and overall contribute in
how social identity affects helping. The four elements are the salience of social identity, the
boundaries of social identity, the contents of social identity and strategic interest of social identity.

Those participating will generally be supportive of each other and will help each other achieve their

Benefits And Benefits Of Membership Programs Essay
The use of membership programs is an international phenomenon and has been growing in the profit
and non–profit sectors (Slater, 2005). Many organizations have utilized membership programs to
encourage or facilitate interaction and collaboration with their current consumers, as well as to
promote and recruit new ones. As important competitive marketing tools, tens of thousands of
membership programs with millions of members exist in a variety of settings, including museums,
galleries, zoological and botanical gardens, theaters, and other cultural heritage–related attractions,
and at festivals and events (Klenosky, Oh, Panek, & Luebke, 2008; Olsson, 2010; Slater, 2005).
Memberships are based on the idea of mutual benefits of a relationship. On one hand, organizations
offer members tangible and intangible benefits such as free admission and access to special events;
on the other hand, members contribute to support organizations as funding, fee revenue, visitors, and
volunteering work (Olsson, 2010). In the context of zoological parks, membership programs can
serve as an important source of funds to balance operational costs, such as professional salaries,
animal care and exhibit expenses, and extra costs for special events (Davey, 2007; Lee, 2015).
Membership programs can also establish a base or core group of supporters that attend and promote
zoo programs, events, and volunteer opportunities (Camarero & Garrido, 2011; Fraser, Clayton,

The Decline in Union Membership in Australia Essay
The Decline in Union Membership in Australia TOPIC – The major issue today facing the
Australian trade union movement has been the decline in union density. What have been the causes,
and how have the unions responded to the challenge. Figures released by the Australian Bureau of
Statistics (ABS) in 2000, show that the decline in Australian union membership continues, despite
the efforts of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), to stop the slide. The ABS reports
that trade union membership has dropped to 28 percent of the total workforce, compared to 1992,
where there was 40 percent. (Australian Bureau of Statistics 2000.) Previous ABS findings show

The most important function of a union is to maximise the wages and salaries of its members
(Deery, Plowman, and Walsh, 2000). Why do employees join unions? There are a number of reasons
that an employee may join a union but three major factors are evident. They are; dissatisfaction with
economic aspects of the job; a desire to influence those aspects of the work environment through
union orientated means; and, a belief that the benefits of unionism outweigh the expected costs
(Deery et al, 2000). With the benefits of the objectives of a union evident, why has Australian unions
witnessed a decline in membership? There are many reasons to suggest a decline in membership, but
three main factors stand out. They are; the changing composition of employment; the casual effects
of the business cycle; and, the introduction of the Accord (Deery et al, 2000). The changing
composition of employment relates to the change in the structure of the workforce. Job growth has
become generally greater in those segments of the labour force with relatively low levels of trade
union membership, and a contraction of employment among the more highly unionised segments of
the labour force (Healey, 1995). Most of the employment growth that occurred in the 80's and 90's
was confined to the private sector whose union density was considerably lower to that of the public
sector. In addition to that, the constant decline in the manufacturing industries, where unionisation is
high, compared to

A membership website can make you a great deal of money if you choose a good niche, although

Choosing a Membership Web Site Niche
So where does choosing a niche come into this? In fact, it is critical to your success. A good
membership site should focus on one niche, and seek members interesting in that niche. It should
contain information related to the subject, and that information should be updated monthly.
We shall discuss this by taking the niche of fishing as an example. If you have no interest in fishing,
and even if you think it a cruel sport, it doesn 't matter. The same principles apply to any other niche.
First check out the number of web pages listed on Google using the term. These results were correct

  • 4. China's Membership Of Wto Introduction In 2001, China became one of the last countries to join the World Trade Organization(WTO). In accordance with WTO rules, which will ensure the integration of China into the world economy in addition to offering a more predictable environment for trade and foreign investment, China equally agreed to undertake a series of significant commitments that will not only open its economy but will also liberalize its regime. In this paper, I will examine the impact of China's membership of WTO. A fundamental premise to begin this analysis is to examine why China needs WTO. China Versus WTO – Potential Benefits China can be considered to be a significant success story due to its explosive economic expansion over the past two decades. The country is equally a prosperous one given that its growth rate which averages nearly 10 percent per year and which has created a vast array of new investment and job opportunities – a growth rate that was fuelled by the county's various reform efforts. It is important to note here that Chinese government's strategy was to transform the country from a planned economy to a more market– oriented economy. This strategy have made China to influence almost everything in the global economy because its reforms upgraded the country's status to that of a trading powerhouse whose activities has reverberated throughout the world market(Adhikari & Yongzheng, 2002; Hertel & Walmsley, 2000; Ianchovichina & William, 2002; Rambaugh & Blanche, 2004). ... • 6. The Reasons for Gang Membership Introduction The reasons as to why people join gangs are many and varied. Indeed, this has over time proven to be an issue of interest amongst many developmental psychologists. Familiarizing ourselves with the various reasons for gang membership could ease the development of programs meant to bring down the number of individuals joining gangs. Further, this could in the long–term turn out to be a step in the right direction as far as the suppression of gang activity is concerned. It is important to note that there exists an urgent need to discourage membership to gangs given the damage such groupings occasion to the society. Apart from raising crime rates, gangs are in most cases also blamed for encouraging drug use given the role they play in drug trade. It is however important to note that though quite a number of reasons have been advanced in an attempt to explain why individuals join gangs, the role household instability plays in influencing gang membership is more often than not underplayed. This effectively means that in seeking to explain the various reasons for gang membership, issues like the need for protection, economic benefit, influence from friends etc have been given more prominence than household instability. In basic terms, household instability can be explained using wide range of scenarios. Generally, family stability has to do with all those factors within the family which contribute towards the healthy development of a child. In that regard, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Home Job Board Memberships If you've read much about looking for work at home jobs, you've probably often heard that you should never pay for a work at home job. That's absolutely true, in the sense that you shouldn't be paying a company to "prove" that you're serious about applying for a job with them. There are, however, legitimate expenses you may have as you pursue a good home based job. Work at Home Job Board Memberships You can find work at home job leads for free, but it's time consuming and often difficult to tell the scam ads from the legitimate employers. A good job board can be worth the purchase because they filter out the job leads for you, putting them in one place without paid advertising. I do not mean all paid work at home job boards are worth it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That costs money, either now or at some time in the past. There's nothing wrong with paying for the education required to get a job – that's necessary for many jobs both at home our outside the home. There can be a problem if the employer says you have to pay them or the exact program they tell you for the job. Sometimes that's a scam. That said, some companies such as Arise are legitimate enough, but are more business opportunity than work at home job, and you do have to pay for training. Read my interview with Arise to learn more about how this can work, and be careful if any company is asking you to pay them for training. They must have an excellent opportunity before you consider such a thing. Overall, this means that yes, you can have expenses associated with your search for a work at home job, and they can be legitimate. Just make sure you know why you're paying someone and that it really will help you to get a good job. Too many people pay for things to help them work from home, and all that happens is that their money disappears and they're frustrated. Use caution and things should turn out ... • 12. Decline of Union Membership Essay Organized labor has seen a long and ever changing history in the United States. What began as minimal organized labor movement catapulted into astronomical union membership rates as the nation grew and developed. The intense power unions possessed only lasted so long and in the years since 1970, union membership in the United States has collapsed. This paper will examine the most significant reasons for the decline in membership. In brief, organizational redesigns, the development of technology and substantial public policy changes have all contributed to the drop in affiliation rates. In addition, policy suggestions will be provided in an attempt to support the continuation of the trend. Much of the research regarding this topic refers to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1913, Congress created the United 3 State Department of Labor as a direct result of pressure from organized labor (MacLaury). Shortly after the creation of the Department of Labor, the Great Recession hit the nation. With the depression came an increased unemployment and lesser wages however significant legislation was also created during that time that impacted union membership. The most significant law was the Fair Labor Standards Act. Following shortly after this FLSA, the United States amended the Equal Pay Act and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Occupations Health and Safety Act of 1970. Although these acts were supported by the power of unions, these acts in particular impact union membership which will be discussed later in the paper. It was at this time in the nation's history that unions began to see a decline in membership. Unions today cast a wide umbrella of membership and consist of trade unions such as the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Laborers International Union of North America to service unions such as the United Food and Commercial Workers. Although their membership has declined, unions that were once affiliated with a defined group skilled labor employees now can be found in almost any industry representing any group of employees. The fuzzy logic gives decision rules and fusion motivation for image fusion [17]. the two inputs images are converted into membership values based on a set of predefined MFs, where the degree of membership of each input pixel to a fuzzy set is determined. Then, the fusion operators are applied to the fuzzified images. The fusion results are then converted back into pixel values using defuzzification. 1) Fuzzy sets: The fuzzy sets are used to describe the gray levels of the input images. we have two inputs and one output. the two inputs are ; the first input is the Pan image and the second input is the first principal component( PC 1 ) of the MS ... • 27. Membership Groups Sociology In sociology there is great emphasis placed on the role of membership groups. By grouping similar features, membership groups help identify social patterns associated with certain characteristics. Membership groups are classified into two types: primary and secondary groups. Primary groups are characterized by intimate and long lasting relationships. Contrarily, secondary groups are normally larger, relatively short lived, and not as intimate as primary groups (pg 127–129). However, sociology also places great importance on the influence of reference groups. Reference groups are used as a standard for evaluating values, attitudes, and behaviors (pg129). Unlike membership groups, reference groups define the social patterns of specific groups. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Younger generations will reference the life experiences of older generations for a rough timeline of life milestones. Although the specific combinations of age and life milestones vary among cultures, there are always certain behaviors that become appropriate with a certain age. Iconic celebrations in different cultures like sweet sixteen, quinceaneras, bar/bat mitzvah etc. all mark the end of childhood and the coming of age. Younger generations may observe more adult behavior and begin to prepare for responsibilities like becoming an independent person. Referencing appropriate behavior with age groups also works in the other direction. In the United States culture, being economically dependent on parents is acceptable for individuals before graduation but it is frowned upon at older age because it is associated with immaturity. This is an example of how older generations reference the younger generations to avoid certain negative characteristics. Celebrities often times serve as reference group for all kinds of people. Celebrities are a powerful reference group because they tend to be glorified by individuals. People seeking the glamour of celebrities will mimic their fashion or life style. Dependence in a group is seen as members blaming someone or something else for their awkward feeling and either becoming dysfunctional when the group becomes overly dependent on members, or having a positive outcome if the group comes together and rallies to succeed (Bright, 2011). I experienced both sides of dependence when my former employer made major changes to the leadership of the organization. The leader that was put in place was rarely there and had a separate agenda from the organization. At first a few of us banded together to keep things at status quo, but after a while we gave up and I became emotionally detached from the organization. Fight–flight behavior is evident when there is ambiguity. Disruptive conflict between members of the group is the fight aspect and the flight aspect is when members' mentally shut down and no longer participate in the group (Bright, 2011). Neither behavior is productive in a group, but can be turned into a positive if recognized and dealt with proactively; communication is the key. The prominent characteristics of club goods is its excludability factor, which might signify unequal distribution of the club goods, however, the club goods can be said to be somewhat rivalrous as shown in table 1, this is because club goods can create a sense of rivalry for individuals outside the club. While hazing is a serious concern, there has been a rise in awareness amongst communities as well as policing the initiation processes of fraternities. In fact, most states have enacted anti–hazing laws (Beitman). Fraternities and sororities are known to have a bad reputation due to media. • 68. Prosocial Behavior And Group Memberships Prosocial behaviour is doing something intended to benefit others or society (Myers 2008) and the relationship between prosocial behaviour and group memberships is significant and research had been carried out to provide evidence relating to this. Social psychologists have shown that different elements of group membership have important implications for our thoughts and behaviour. Levine and Manning (2013) considered four key elements which are combined and overall contribute in how social identity affects helping. The four elements are the salience of social identity, the boundaries of social identity, the contents of social identity and strategic interest of social identity. When it comes to the reactive forms of helping we describe, we would expect that to happen among in group members for any group (Levine, Prosser, Evans, & Reicher, 2005). This is an excellent example of in group membership as they are belonging to same religion, beliefs and gather at the same location for the same outcome. • 70. Costco Wholesale Membership Essay Costco Wholesale Membership is one of the biggest membership warehouse club chains not only in America but across the world. While I personally have fallen prey to the sticker shock while checking out, I always ask myself why do I continue to shop here, what makes shopping here so special for me and everyone else in this 10–person deep check–out line, and what makes Costco one of the largest retailers in the world? The lack of advertising outside of the monthly Costco Connection magazine and coupons to existing members cannot be mistaken for lack of marketing since Costco is thriving. While I ask myself the above questions inevitably when someone inquires where I have purchased x, y or z or when I am talking about x, y, or z product 100% of the time I have purchased it from Costco. • 72. Benefits And Benefits Of Membership Programs Essay The use of membership programs is an international phenomenon and has been growing in the profit and non–profit sectors (Slater, 2005). Many organizations have utilized membership programs to encourage or facilitate interaction and collaboration with their current consumers, as well as to promote and recruit new ones. As important competitive marketing tools, tens of thousands of membership programs with millions of members exist in a variety of settings, including museums, galleries, zoological and botanical gardens, theaters, and other cultural heritage–related attractions, and at festivals and events (Klenosky, Oh, Panek, & Luebke, 2008; Olsson, 2010; Slater, 2005). Memberships are based on the idea of mutual benefits of a relationship. On one hand, organizations offer members tangible and intangible benefits such as free admission and access to special events; on the other hand, members contribute to support organizations as funding, fee revenue, visitors, and volunteering work (Olsson, 2010). In the context of zoological parks, membership programs can serve as an important source of funds to balance operational costs, such as professional salaries, animal care and exhibit expenses, and extra costs for special events (Davey, 2007; Lee, 2015). Membership programs can also establish a base or core group of supporters that attend and promote zoo programs, events, and volunteer opportunities (Camarero & Garrido, 2011; Fraser, Clayton, Sickler, & Taylor, 2009; Olsson, 2010; ... • 76. The Decline in Union Membership in Australia Essay The Decline in Union Membership in Australia TOPIC – The major issue today facing the Australian trade union movement has been the decline in union density. What have been the causes, and how have the unions responded to the challenge. Figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) in 2000, show that the decline in Australian union membership continues, despite the efforts of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), to stop the slide. The ABS reports that trade union membership has dropped to 28 percent of the total workforce, compared to 1992, where there was 40 percent. (Australian Bureau of Statistics 2000.) Previous ABS findings show that these recent figures are part of a general trend, with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most important function of a union is to maximise the wages and salaries of its members (Deery, Plowman, and Walsh, 2000). Why do employees join unions? There are a number of reasons that an employee may join a union but three major factors are evident. They are; dissatisfaction with economic aspects of the job; a desire to influence those aspects of the work environment through union orientated means; and, a belief that the benefits of unionism outweigh the expected costs (Deery et al, 2000). With the benefits of the objectives of a union evident, why has Australian unions witnessed a decline in membership? There are many reasons to suggest a decline in membership, but three main factors stand out. They are; the changing composition of employment; the casual effects of the business cycle; and, the introduction of the Accord (Deery et al, 2000). The changing composition of employment relates to the change in the structure of the workforce. Job growth has become generally greater in those segments of the labour force with relatively low levels of trade union membership, and a contraction of employment among the more highly unionised segments of the labour force (Healey, 1995). Most of the employment growth that occurred in the 80's and 90's was confined to the private sector whose union density was considerably lower to that of the public sector. In addition to that, the constant decline in the manufacturing industries, where unionisation is high, compared to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
