Smooth running of databases to support multiple applications at all times has become the need of the hour. To fulfill this, many organizations are spending a significant amount of time, money, and resources on their database support and monitoring. Unfortunately, there are not many Progress database monitoring tools available. And the ones that are available are majorly proprietary.
JKT has launched a community edition of ProActio – a web-based, open source monitoring and reporting solution. The community open source edition comes with complete source code and all the relevant libraries. Users are free to take the source code, extend or branch it and submit the release back to community. It is available on GitHub. Access ProActio at https://github.com/JKT-OSSCLUB/ProActio .Also available is the product roadmap and future release plans.
ProActio enables monitoring of key database health indicators such as storage areas, database users, roles and privileges, long running transactions, database I/O monitoring, historical statistics of the OpenEdge database, DB stats reporting, Linux server statistics and many more. ProActio allows users to set and configure the dispatching of alerts regarding critical database events and serves as an irreplaceable assistant for a Database Administrator.
