Jody Resnick, CEO of Trighton Interactive, presentation from SMX Advanced 2013 in Seattle. Consumers use multiple devices every day. Maybe they start on a smartphone, move to a PC during at work hours, check the smartphone periodically and finish the evening at home on a tablet. Search is a central part of all these experiences. Research that begins on one device may conclude with a transaction on another…or in a physical location. How do marketers address this new, vastly more complex consumer behavior?
This session offers answers, exploring organic and paid search optimization across screens as well as best practices for tracking and calculating ROI. In addition to tactical advice, speakers will present case studies showcasing the challenges and opportunities of this new multiscreen world.

Editor's Notes
Excited to speak on this topic – working on the internets since 1999Address my experience and Trighton – Full service interactive agency based in Orlando, FL with expertise in responsive design and advanced SEM strategiesConsidering the available options, it’s my fact based opinion that Responsive Design is the ideal solution to manage search in a multiscreen world
We're living a part of marketing history. The shift to constant connectivity is one that’s transforming how we connect with people, providing access to so many more consumer moments than ever before, and powerful ways to be relevant and welcome at each one. The possibilities are incredible and the opportunity is huge – and the time is now.If you are like me, you most likely have3- 5 devices on you at any given time. My Example – Start my day on mobile phone as it’s right next to my bed. I check my email, scan twitter, and get a jump on news. While taking my shower I browse the web on my tablet. Get to work log on computer, find myself using my mobile, tablet and computer. I usually go out to lunch and check email and stay updated on projects via mobile. The point I’m making here is that in 2013 , consumers rely on search to connect their experiences across screens.TRANSITION - What happens when companies haven’t adapted to optimizing UX and search for multiscreens?
We are constantly connected and expect our experience online to be flawless…. If it’s not, we leave and move onGranted, there are terrific mobile solutions. However, if you want to enhance the user experience, increase natural search traffic, lower paid search costs, and increase ROI, then responsive website design is the best solution.
Increasing level of multiscreen viewing is an undeniable indication that online content must flow seamlessly across all screen sizes and devices.
