CONVENTIONS
Identify specific examples of conventions you used in your
AS and A2 production.
Looking at the relevant sections of your evaluations, and at
your coursework products on your blog may help you.
Aim to identify a minimum of 3 conventions you used at AS,
and 5 you used at A2.
EVALUATION
Evaluate one specific example of your use of convention at
AS, and one at A2.
You need to:
• identify a specific example
• explain the example – how was it conventional, what
effect did this have?
• evaluate the example – how well did this work?
Benefits and disadvantages?
• Progress – how does this demonstrate progress? What
skills have you developed?
PROGRESSION
How has your use of conventions progressed through the
course?
Bullet-point your ideas.
You may want to consider your use of conventions in a range
of different media and genres, using a wider range of
technical elements to create conventional effects, or
breaking conventions.
PLENARY
Give one example of how you used conventions at A2 which
shows how you have progressed during the course.
Lesson objectives: To identify examples and evaluate your
progress in the use of conventions in your production work.

  • 2. WHAT ARE THE CONVENTIONS OF YOUR COURSEWORK PRODUCTS MUSIC MAGAZINE Masthead Coverlines …. A2 MAIN TASK …
  • 3. CONVENTIONS Identify specific examples of conventions you used in your AS and A2 production. Looking at the relevant sections of your evaluations, and at your coursework products on your blog may help you. Aim to identify a minimum of 3 conventions you used at AS, and 5 you used at A2.
  • 4. EVALUATION Evaluate one specific example of your use of convention at AS, and one at A2. You need to: • identify a specific example • explain the example – how was it conventional, what effect did this have? • evaluate the example – how well did this work? Benefits and disadvantages? • Progress – how does this demonstrate progress? What skills have you developed?
  • 5. PROGRESSION How has your use of conventions progressed through the course? Bullet-point your ideas. You may want to consider your use of conventions in a range of different media and genres, using a wider range of technical elements to create conventional effects, or breaking conventions.
  • 6. PLENARY Give one example of how you used conventions at A2 which shows how you have progressed during the course. Lesson objectives: To identify examples and evaluate your progress in the use of conventions in your production work.
