The GSM-R gateway is a media-gateway between the NIS-System and the GSM-R network. Thanks to the redundant design of the hardware the gateway is extremely reliable. It is linked to the ComNode via LAN/WAN and can be used from several NIS-ComNodes. The gateway can be fully integrated into the NIS management system where it can be configured and all parameters are monitored.
Characteristics
Redundancy mode with automatic and fast rerouting of connections
Can be used as gateway from several ComNodes
Load-balancing mode with multiple GSM-R gateways configurable
Redundant network interface
Functional addressing with comfortable dialling support and readable text-strings on incoming calls
Group voice calls (VGCS)
Broadcast voice calls (VBS)
Multi-party voice calls
Text message service (SMS)
Emergency calls (train- / shunting- /public-emergency calls)
Multi-level priority and pre-emption (eMLPP)
Closed user groups
Barring incoming or outgoing calls
Pool of E1 interfaces (ISDN primary rate) with DSS1 protocol and with support of supplementary services like MLPP or UUS1
IN connection for lookup of registered mobiles & cell locations (supplier specific interface)
Routing of calls dependent of additional information from Train Data System (supplier specific interface)
Based on hardware of LX-Node or SX-Node according to requirements
