Like double edged swords, blind dates, and nuclear power plants, either a PowerPoint presentation can go really well and make you look totally awesome or it can completely suck and be the scourge of your existence. If you’re a savvy panda you’re no doubt aware that there are certain flaws in presentation design which can wreck an otherwise perfectly good slide presentation. Designers are often faced with the tough task of presenting their work to clients, both internal and external. What do you do when the best feedback you get back is from secret stakeholders (like their mom) or is focused on the small details (like the size of the logo) rather than the larger design? First of all, don't panic. Senior designer Sarah Mills, from Atlantic Media Strategies, has been in this situation before, and will share her personal experience and tips for applying UX thinking to getting meaningful feedback from stakeholders. In the latter part of his autobiography, Professor Adewole shares his experiences as a Minister, detailing the challenges he faced while serving the public with integrity and courage. His reflections on the complexities of public service, coupled with his commitment to the well-being of the nation, offer practical insights for policymakers and citizens alike. I have carefully read "Uncommon Grace" and it is more than just a memoir. It is a timeless book that is hard to put down once you start reading. While intellectuals may continue to debate whether uncommon grace was made possible by uncommon preparation or the other way around, I applaud Professor Adewole for sharing his ideas, knowledge, and experience with the public. I firmly believe that by doing so, we can guide Nigeria to stride forward with pride and purpose. I want to thank the Board and Management of the Public Policy Forum for their kind invitation to speak at this important event and for their commitment to promoting public policy research and analysis in Nigeria. My gratitude also to the late Prince Emeka Obasi, a true inspiration and a builder of bridges across divides, for his contributions to the country. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
