Issues associated with dryer ducts found at Ohio home inspections by Habitation Investigation. Use the information to help prevent home buying issues and to keep your home in good condition.
2. Always route to exterior
• Clothes dryers produce large amount of moist
air. They should always be routed to the
exterior of a home.
• One load of wash holds approximately 10
pounds of water (5 quarts)
3. Keep them short as possible
• Standard building practices limit clothes dryer
exhaust ducts to 25 feet, and less when bends
are present (2.5 feet for each 45-degree bend
and 5 feet for each 90-degree bend)
11. Final Comments
• Recommend to sellers that they check on the
dryer vents to ensure proper connections.
• Check your own vents
• If not proper have it corrected to avoid future
issues
