KAPTUR is a project led by the Visual Arts Data Service and four UK universities to develop best practices for managing research data in the arts. The project will create toolkits for visual arts researchers and data managers, policies for managing research data, and sustainability plans for maintaining data management at each university. The project is making progress on workshops, case studies, and presentations to share results and has developed a project plan, website, and blog to update on milestones. Increased funding for artistic research is leading to more emphasis on effectively managing the growing amounts of research data being created in the arts.
