Create multiple learning centers that allow children to choose the order in
which to move through the days lessons
Provide open ended creative experiences such as the junk yard to create
inventions
Children are encouraged to exercise independence and take on responsibilities
Assign classroom duties to students such as paper passer, trash monitor, line
leader, etc. Ensure that ALL children have a responsibility.
Have a materials center for extra paper, scissors, pencils, glue and tape that
allows children to get materials without having to ask for adult assistance.
