The Coming of The Son of Man
John 3:16, explains that God revealed His love towards us by offering up
His only begotten Son for a sacrifice to atone for our sins so that we may
obtain salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. This act of salvation
requires that the begotten Son fulfils several roles such as:
3
Sacrificial Lamb
Propitiator
Substitute
Redeemer
Reconciler
Mediator
Advocate
High Priest
Second Adam

What is Biblical Typology?
From a biblical perspective, a typology is a kind of symbolism used to
express ideas and qualities of a person or thing. The purpose of the use of
typology is to give clues to a hidden message to the reader. For example,
the apostles peter compares Noah's flood in the old testament as a type of
water baptism in the new testament (1 Pet 3:20-21)

What is The Doctrine of Substitution?
From a biblical perspective, the doctrine of substitution refers to Jesus
Christ punishment and death as the substitutionary penalty for our
offences against God (1 Pet 2:24, 2 Cor 5:21).
Our sin was imputed to Christ. That is, it was reckoned to His account so
that when He died on the cross, He fulfilled the requirement of the law that
states that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

God provided the lamb for the burnt offering. God alone can supply that
which will satisfy His holy demands. Nothing on the part of man can meet
the Divine requirements of a righteous God. God did what sinful man can
never do. God supplied the perfect Lamb for the substitutionary atoning
sacrifice for sin

That day the ram became Isaac's substitute. God rescued Isaac with a
substitute ram. Our substitute saved us from the penalty of the wages of
sin. The Apostle Paul wrote,
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

The apostle Peter also wrote: 1Pe 2:24
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being
dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were
healed”

12. The Purposes for The Son
Typologies of Jesus Christ our Substitution?
The only sacrifice God accepts for our sin is the sacrifice that
He has provided. Abraham's near sacrifice of his son Isaac was
a prophecy of the actual sacrifice by God of His Son, Jesus
Christ.
