Fifthplay Smart DIN Rail Module 16A
The smart DIN rail module provides an easy and robust way to measure and control the energy
consumption of individual circuits. Circuits can be remotely (anywhere in the world where one has
access to the internet) controlled. The DIN rail module can be installed by an electrician.
Features
Measurement of electricity consumption per 15 minutes (Wh)
Measurement of instantaneous power in real-time (W)
Remotely (web-based) switching of the module (on/off)
Local switch button on the module
Wireless communication and control (RF)
Encrypted data transfer
Reset function
LED indicates linking state with fifthplay gateway
LED indicates the switch status
Detect LED to easily find a specific module in a switch board
Local data buffer up to 25 hours when communication with gateway fails
Up to 50 modules per gateway

Installation guidelines
When mounting the modules adjacent to each other, a minimum of ½TE spacing should be
preserved to ensure enough ventilation of the heat dissipation. Ensure the correct spacing by
using the correct blank plates.
The modules can only be mounted adjacent to each other without spacing for continuous load
below 14A.
Preferably place the modules at the bottom of the distribution board.
Ensure the temperature inside the cabin does not exceed 45°C. If needed, provide additional
(forced) ventilation and sufficient air extraction at the top of the cabin.
Application example:
o In a 12 unit small electrical cabinet, ventilation must be provided starting from 3 modules
Idle power consumption Typical 270mW
Operating temperature range (ambient):
o Minimum 0°C, Maximum 45°C
Radio signal range
When using the external antenna
- Range up to 30m for line of sight
- Penetration: 1 massif (concrete) wall or floor, up to 3 dry- or up to 2 brick walls/floors
- Internal antenna ( no antenna plugged in ) up to 15 m
Distance between HAM / DIN module
- For a module equipped with external antenna a distance of 1m should be respected
between HAM <-> DIN
- For a module equipped without external antenna, HAM and DIN module can be mounted
adjacent to each other
Use of an external magnetic base antenna
- The external magnetic base antenna should be mounted on a metal surface of min 15 x 15
cm. If necessarily an extra metal base plate should be provided.
