Version 3.10 of KioWare for Android is now available! This version adds support for Android 7.0, features a new Exit Tutorial for first-time KioWare users, and offers significantly more options for device provisioning. Version 3.10 of KioWare for Android is available in models Lite, Basic, and Full with Kiosk Management. All three models have added support for Android 7.0, also known as Android Nougat. All three models also feature expanded options for device provisioning. This includes configuring Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, default launcher, screen timeout, screen brightness, volume levels, and the ability to have provisioning wait for an active network connection before proceeding. The most notable feature in KioWare for Android version 3.10 is a new Exit Tutorial. The tutorial helps new users better understand how to exit KioWare. This is only shown the first time KioWare is run, so if you’re updating KioWare for Android from an existing version, you won’t see – or have a need for – this tutorial. Here’s how the new exit tutorial works: The first time you run KioWare, a message appears with numbered fingertip guides in the four corners; tap or click those guides in the four corners in clockwise order. Once you complete that successfully, the exit tutorial allows you to practice exiting KioWare without relying on the fingertip guides. Tap or click the four corners in clockwise order again. If you make a mistake, like clicking in the wrong spot or in the wrong order, that’s okay. The fingertip guides will reappear to show you exactly where to click. Use the guides to click the four corners, then find the four corners without using the guides. At this point, you’ve successfully completed the exit tutorial. Next you’ll see the existing default start page which also serves as a reminder for how to exit KioWare.
