First he served in the Navy. Then he was elected governor of New York. After that he
was William McKinley’s vice president.
McKinely was assassinated in 1901, and then Roosevelt took his place he was 42.
That made him the youngest president ever to serve.
8. After he was President
After he retired he went on a safari in Africa.
His face is carved on Mount Rushmore.
He was one of the most popular presidents of the U.S.A history.
One of his favorite sayings was “Speak softly and carry a big stick”.
His wife and his mother died on the same day.
