20. Look for a program that does not require student emails or identifying features. On some programs classes can be contained and only members of the class can see the posts. Some programs make the teacher a moderator of the group. All posts and comments have to be cleared through the teacher. Is there a safety concern with using blogs?
21. Provide your students with a level of anonymity. Create fun pseudonyms. Get parental and administrative permission. Make sure all students have signed an AUP. Teach students what is acceptable to post and what is not. Teach students the skills you want them to use or not use (appropriate commenting, use of texting shortcuts).
