6. INTRODUCTION TO THE
ROLLING MILLS
Rolling is the process of squeezing the metal by
passing through the rolls. In this process metal stock
is passed through the one or more pairs of rolls to
reduce the thickness and to make the thickness
uniform. It is classified into two types:
 Hot Rolling.
 Cold Rolling.

7. HOT ROLLING: In this process the rolling is done when
temperature of the metal is above its recrystallization
temperature.
COLD ROLLING: In this process the rolling is done when
temperature of the metal is below its recrystallization
temperature.

8. VARIOUS PROCESSES IN ROLLING MILL:

 INTERMEDIATE
 FINISHING
After completing these three processes we get
the final product.

Air Pollution Control Device are to be installed. These are
commonly also called Ventilation Systems.
They have to be selected based on many factors which include:
 Size of the operations.
 Physical layout of the unit.
 Relative location of different points of generation of pollution.
 Particular processes to be covered.
