A smart way to show more leadership is to be decisive. Many decisions are on your shoulders as the 
leader. If you are one of a team that is divided about how to solve problems, it is important to choose 
solutions that will benefit the whole team instead of only a few people. 
While you should always be there for your team as a leader, don't forget to nurture growth in 
yourself. Figure out where it is that you want to grow. Do what you can to stretch yourself as much 
as you can. Engage and deepen your passions and strengths to make your most valuable 
contributions. 
Don't shift the blame for mistakes to others. Subordinates, outside contractors, and plenty of other 
people within the organization can cause a business transaction to go wrong. If you try to shift the 
blame, you will lose the confidence of your customers and they won't patronize your business any 
longer. 
Take ownership of failures. Everyone makes them. A great leader can admit to mistakes and speak 
about them honestly with his employees. It just means that you're human. This might not seem like a 
great way to lead, but in many cases people are loyal to those that can show humanity. 
To be a good business leader, always keep an eye out for more consumer oriented sales promotions 
examples than your current problems and urgent matters. What that means is to always be open to 
opportunities that present themselves. You never know when you might make the right potential 
professional contact or see a chance to make some money suddenly. Always be prepared for these 
moments. 
Being a good leader doesn't just mean that you lead others. You also need the skills to lead yourself. 
Leading yourself by staying motivated and focused can also set a great example for others. Make an
effort to become a working part of your organization and not just delegate tasks to others. 
Be a passionate leader. It is easier for other to follow a leader that truly cares about the group's 
goals. Great leaders should have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the projects long term 
incentive programs in progress instead of just making sure everyone is finishing their work. Express 
your passion and let everyone know that you care about their progress. When someone shares with 
the group, let them know that their contribution is appreciated. 
Delegate responsibilities whenever possible. Showing trust in your employees gives them confidence

As a leader, your words are the tools you use to motivate people, whether in good ways, or bad. 
Words are a powerful asset. To motivate your team, or workforce, use the most powerful motivating 
words you can. These include: thank you, please, great job, glad to see you, or any uplifting words 
that will boost the confidence of your team. 
Learn to delegate properly. A good leader know that they cannot handle everything alone. They need 
others to do certain tasks. That doesn't mean delegating all of your responsibilities to others, but if 
you know someone on your team wants to help or can do a certain task better than you, pass it on to 
them. This will keep things moving forward by letting you work on other tasks that need completed. 
Leadership does mean creating mindless 
followers. It instead means fostering an 
environment where people can cultivate 
their own strengths, then use them for 
the greater good. As a leader, you do not 
want your team members to be 
dependent on you for their strength or 
their inspiration. You want them to bring 
those things to the table and allow them 
to be guided by your leadership skills. 
Do not get too personal with the people working underneath you. While it is a great idea to remain 
friendly with your employees, forming strong friendships can cross the line, and it might make it 
more difficult for you to continue working in a boss / employee relationship. Keep a bit of distance 
for best results. 
Take responsibility for mistakes that are made by you or any member of your team. Even though 
someone else may have created a specific problem, the ultimate responsibility is yours. Doing this
will build employee confidence in your leadership abilities and show that you are accountable for 
whatever happens in your business. 
You can become an innovative leader by stepping outside the box. Most leaders, and employers, look 
for problems, and try to find ways to fix them. Instead, try to focus on the strengths of your team, 
and build on them. You will achieve much more with a strengthened workforce than a few easily-solved 
issues. 
Great leadership is indispensable to any business planning to succeed in a serious way. If you do not
