I selected the Louisville Cardinals' to discus this week for my week two assignment. This was Louisville's fourth conference change since
1996.Louisville join the Conference U.S.A that year and was not welcome by its other conference colleagues, because the men's basketball team was
on probation by the NCAA. The Louisville program was also apart of a 60 minutes investigation, their home football games were being played in a
minor league baseball stadium and their school has some serious Title IX issues according to Murphy, B (2014, July 1). Despite all of the surrounding
issues Louisville went on to become successful on the field and basketball courts, they join the Big East conference and made their brand very attractive.
Although, Louisville's brand had become attractive, the conference they had joined was losing its appeal, due to conference realignments. The Big
East lost the majority of its superb teams instantaneously. The major hit came to the Big East conference when what I consider the Big Seven in
college basketball Georgetown, De Paul, Marquette, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall and Villanova left together, which became a major split in the

The Batting Of Baseball Scouts
We are baseball scouts and we just got to the high school to look at a player. He is on the home team and is a shortstop that we want to draft. His
number is 71. He is batting cleanup (4th). He just came out to take batting practice.
Now in the 1st inning, with 2 outs, he makes a diving stop to get the third out. End of the inning. He is up to bat in the bottom of the first inning with

The Education System : A Comprehensive High School Program
Currently in the U.S education system, I can only think of one policy/practice/program that is similar to the Cardinal Principles outline. In many high
schools around the country there are CTE courses and teachers that students can participate in. CTE (Career and Technical Education) are taught in
many areas that are found in the professional world from business management to technology to arts to legal studies. To be a certified teacher in any
of these areas, one has to have a degree/certain amount of credits in that CTE topic or a set amount of years of real world professional experience
working in that field. CTE courses and curriculum is very aligned to what the Cardinal Principals authors had in mind with the structure of a
comprehensive high school. This high school utopia that allows students to venture in to many different areas outside of the core subjects was what the
Cardinal Principals authors seemed to believe was the answer to stronger educational outcomes and members of society.
Every high school does not offer CTE courses and teachers; there a number of reasons why. Very much like the Cardinal Principals understanding,
every high school cannot provide a comprehensive curriculum that tailors to every type of interest. Funding and need definitely come in to play in
this area. Additionally, looking at the last high school I was working at as an example, I do not believe that every population/SES group needs or

Papal Conclave was introduced years after the Roman Catholic Church was established. The position of Pope is currently occupied by His Holiness

prior. Taking into the account the history of the Catholic Church, the Papal conclave is a relatively new concept. Before the conclave and the

Why Catholic Education is Important to Me
Ever since I was little, I have felt that Catholic education has been the best fit for me. Catholic education is important to me because I am able to
practice my faith and get an individualized education that will help prepare me for college and for real life. At school, praying and worshiping
with my friends has always been natural to me, as we feel more like a family than just classmates. With a faith filled, family based education that

New Athletic and Distinguished Alumni Members to be Inducted October 1, 2016
Middlefield, OH – Cardinal High School will be inducting 4 new members into the Athletic Hall
of Fame and 4 new members into the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame on October 1, 2016. In
addition, Cardinal will be recognizing the contributions of former Superintendent A. J. Jordak
with a "Lifetime Achievement Award."
The 2016 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees are:
Jason Driscoll (1996) –– Jason Driscoll had a standout athletic career at Cardinal High
School. He was an all–star basketball player but is best remembered for his outstanding

Amy Lukas (1989) –– Amy Lukas is a founding partner of Infinite Scale Design Group, a
sports design consultancy. Prior to starting Infinite Scale, Amy was the design project

manager for the Look of the Games at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. With
Infinite Scale, Amy has worked on several projects, including Super Bowls XXXIX–XLIII,
the concept design for Yankee Stadium, the Sundance Film Festival, the Orange Bowl;

Larry Fitzgerald was born on August 31, 1983, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to parents Larry Fitzgerald Sr. and Carol Fitzgerald. Larry Fitzgerald
Sr. works as a sportswriter for the Minnesota Spokesman Recorder and Carol Fitzgerald was a teacher. Larry has one younger brother named
Marcus Fitzgerald. His brother Marcus Fitzgerald was a wide receiver in college for the Sacramento Mountain Lions. Currently Marcus is an actor,
model, and engineer. Before Fitzgerald started his NFL career, he used to be a Minnesota Vikings ball boy. Fitzgerald went tohigh school at Academy
of Holy Angels in Richfield, Minnesota. Fitzgerald played football during high school as a wide receiver in high school. During his senior year of high
school, he had 73 receptions and 17 touchdowns.
Fitzgerald went to college at the University of Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 2002–2004. Fitzgerald's time in college at the University of
Pittsburgh was excellent in terms of football success. Fitzgerald received the Walter Camp Award and the Fred Biletnikoff Award. Both of these

The Great Schism
During the late 14th century and the early 15th century there was a great division in the Catholic Church. The Papacy was becoming blurred. The
center of the Roman Catholic Church had been moved from Rome to the city of Avignon during the reign of Pope Clement V; and there was now a
movement to return the center of power back to Rome. This movement was first truly seen under Pope Gregory XI and his successor Pope Urban VI.
Earlier Pope Urban V had moved the center to Rome but it had been proven to be no more than a temporary idea; he had gone back to Avignon to die

Pope Clement VII was also the cousin of the French king, which insured that the church would be under French influence. The cardinals insisted
that they had to elect a new pope, Pope Clement VII, because the election of Pope Urban VI was not valid. They were coerced into electing the
Roman pope for fear of their lives; a mob of Italians outside of the conclave that elected Pope Urban VI had threatened to massacre the cardinals if a
foreigner was chosen as the replacement for Gregory XI.

For over a period of seven hundred plus years, from Gregory the Great's papacy to Boniface VIII's papacy, the world experienced many influential
popes, whose accomplishments changed the course of history. Many of these popes become known for both their positive accomplishments, which

First, Pope Nicholas II decreed that the College of Cardinals would obtain authority to choose the pope. The College of Cardinals was made up of a
group of Roman Church officials who were in charge of electing the pope, which was put in place to prevent kings from selecting popes. The
declaration made by Nicholas II for the continuation of the College of Cardinals led to the declaring of independence from political structure. This
