What have you learned
from your audience
feedback?
Getting audience feedback is a good way of knowing how
well we have done on a piece of work.
By asking individuals for their feedback on our
trailer, poster and magazine cover, as a group we are
then able to look at what went well, what didn’t go so
well and what improvements we can make to make it a
much better and stronger piece of work.
As well as making it a better piece of work, it also makes
sure that the images and the text communicate
effectively with the intended target audience.
Why is audience feedback essential?
Firstly, we completed our trailer and showed it to the media
class that we were working in on the board as a group.
We gave each individual in the class a questionnaire to fill out
whilst watching it so we could see what they thought of it.
We collected in our questionnaires and examined the results.
We then figured out the best was to show this feedback and
therefore put all the information in to a tally chart.
Once we had the tally chart, we then made a bar graph just so
that we could visually see our results.
What we did…
This is the tally chart:
This is the bar graph:
After looking at our results, we noticed that just
under 50% of our audience said they would
change the font.
They said they would change this to make it so
that it fits with the horror convention more, so
this is what we did.

The changes…
Our previous slide shows the difference between
our old trailer and our new trailer.
The changes are:
• The font
• The colour
• The way the words are phrased
• The transitions of the text.
What else did we do?
We also uploaded our trailer to YouTube.
The reason we did this is so that we could get a
varied amount of feedback as opposed to having
feedback from just within our media class.
The results were summarised as an effective trailer.
We then went on to complete our magazine cover
and poster to promote the trailer.
We printed out copies of each and sent them round
the media class with another questionnaire, one for
each, and asked them to complete it.
Once we receive the feedback, we made two
tables, one summarising the feedback on the
magazine cover, and the other summarising the
feedback on the poster.
What next?
Magazine cover and Poster.
Here is our magazine cover feedback:
After looking closely at the table and suggested
improvements , we sat as a group and decided what
needed to be done.
What we decided on was that the barcode needed to be
added to make it look more professional, and also, we
picked up on a spelling mistake so we made that change
too.
We also added in ‘and, must see films of 2013’ as a tagline
as this was a suggest improvement for our cover.
Results…
Before: After:
Here is our Poster feedback:
After looking closely at the table and suggested
improvements , we noticed that the audience said the
font could be better by being the same as the
magazine cover.
As a group we disagreed.
We did some research on film magazine covers and
their posters and looked at the synergy. We noticed
that no poster and magazine cover used the same
fonts and therefore decided not to make any changes
as we felt that the poster was effective enough.
Results…
By asking for audience feedback, we are able to see what other
people, whom are different to one another, personally think of
our trailer/poster/magazine cover.
By then comparing the feedback, we are able to see whether
there is a common improvement mentioned and if so, it is one
that needs to be heavily focussed on.
If one individual makes a suggested improvement that no one
else has mentioned, we then consider it, and make the changes if
we feel it is appropriate to improving our work, even if the vast
majority hasn’t mentioned that improvement.
Conclusion/Summary.
