Pedicures have been shown, in a number of circles, to be good. They aren't merely for making your
feet feel better; when they include massage, pedicures are beneficial for things like reducing your
pain, raising your circulation, and reducing your stress levels. Obviously though, most people aren't
exactly happy about the idea of professional pedicures. Professional pedicures involve using the
same tools that have been used on several other individuals and you can't tell those tools are clean.
The cool news is that it is definitely possible to do your own pedicures. Here is how you can perform
a DIY pedicure without ever leaving your home.
Remove any nail polish with a non-acetone polish remover (acetone is not good for your health).
Next, clip your nails straight across and smoothen any rough edges. See to it that you use a toenail
clipper to trim your nails instead of a fingernail clipper. Fingernail clippers have a curved shape and
can make your toenails become ingrown and start hurting.
Try soaking your feet in a warm bath. Tey letting your feet soak in a tub filled with warm water for
at least a few minutes. It is also a great idea to mix in things like bath salts, skin softeners or skin
soothers to the water. This makes your foot bath more relaxing and is a fantastic way to pamper
your feet to help them feel better. You can obtain ingredients for your foot bath in nearly every store
that carries bath and body products. Some of the products are costlier than others but pick the one
you like the best.
Remove any calluses or rough spots that might still be there after your foot bath with a pumice.
Avoid using callus shavers or similar tools. A plain and good old pumice stone should be sufficient.
Rinse your feet after you've finished with the pumice stone. After you have rinsed away the dust
from the pumice stone and your calluses and also any foot soak-ness that remains, apply some
moisturizing lotion. There are all kinds of moisturizing lotions for the feet out there. Don't just rub in
the lotion (though if you're in a rush this is okay). Instead, if possible, deeply massage in the lotion.
The massage is great for the entire body, not only your feet.
As soon as your feet are clean, without calluses and moisturized, it is time to prep them to be
gorgeous. This is not an essential step, but knowing that your feet are pretty can help you feel better
about the rest of you, even if you keep your feet closed into shoes all day. Cuticle pushers are the
best option for pushing back your cuticles (trimmers can cause a number of wounds and infections).
Put on a layer of nail strengthening polish. Once the first coat has had the time to dry properly, you
cna put on whatever colors or designs that you prefer!
DIY pedicures can be done pretty quickly and are ordinarily more affordable than those that you
would get professionally. Don't hesitate to get started; these pedicures can improve your overall
health!
