2. EVALUATION
Initial Ideas
The initial idea of my product was to produce an advertising campaign all about the new
GoPro Hero 5 set to be released summer 2016. Throughout my campaign I produced
1 T.V advert and multiple print adverts that would be showcased in a variety of events.
I believe that my project was a success because I followed my original proposal and my
Tv advert went the way I hoped it would, this Is due to following my story board and
Going out by my self and getting footage. I also used footage that I had got from a
Holiday I went on last year. I also stuck with my story boards and location shots to insure
My advert was a success.
This is a screen
shot of my advert
and next to it is a
location photo
that I took.

Production Process
I think that my pre-production went well because I stuck
with it. I stuck with my
Production schedule which helped me
Time manage my project. I started
Filming for my advert ahead of schedule
So that I had enough time to get all the
Footage I wanted.
I also thing that Unit 21 was a success
Providing that it was a individual project and all the
work that I did was by myself.
Because my pre-production went so well and smooth,
this allowed my production to
Also go well and quickly. During this product I learnt
many new skills and knowledge about GoPro’s history
and future.

Week 6 Pitch Product
I also think that my TV advert was a success because I
watched a lot of GoPro adverts that they had produced
on YouTube for inspiration
Also I got copyright
from the music I
used in my advert
from the song
producer.
4. EVALUATION
Production Process
I started my advert with the typical
‘GoPro Be A Hero’ intro that GoPro
use in all of their adverts, this
Immediately tells the viewer that its
About GoPro and is going to be a
Fast pace video.
I added audio transition effects which slowly adds my audio
Onto my footage for a more professional look and makes the advert
And product more appealing to the customer.
I made sure my clips were in time
With the audio to build tension
And adrenaline because that’s
What my advert is about.
5. EVALUATION
Strengths
I feel that Unit 21 went very well. I think that this is mainly due to doing a lot of
research
And being well prepared before I started creating adverts and filming. Before I started
Filming I spent a few media lessons watching GoPro adverts and videos on YouTube. I
did
This so that I could see what kind of style that GoPro try to implement into their
adverts.
Doing this led to me creating a video that had the same style and approach as a GoPro
Advert. One strength is that I have a variety of different clips in my advert, this creates a
Different contrast within my advert and I feel like it shows off the GoPro in a positive
way.
Unit 21 was a success because I made a very good pre-production, this allowed me to
Follow time schedules and follow time management and allow me to plan ahead
accordingly.
Also in my advert I liked the way that I synced the music with the clips, this builds
tension and excitement to the viewer and makes the whole video look very smooth and
I believe I made the advert to the best of my ability.
6. EVALUATION
Strengths
This is a shot that I screen shotted
from my advert where I put my GoPro
chest mount onto my dog (a fully
grown St Bernard) and got her to
chase after me. I have proud of this
shot and am happy with the result as I
didn’t use the typical GoPro mount
meant for a dog. I believe that this
shot shows off the GoPro and shows
the audience how versatile the GoPro
is.
This is a unique shot due to not really
seeing this kind of shot before in a
typical GoPro advert. This makes my
advert different to a typical advert.
7. EVALUATION
Weakness
Due to Unit 21 being such a success it’s hard for me to pin point any significant
weakness. One weakness is that Unit 21 was a very short project compared to others I
have done previously, throughout my project I was felt rushed and pressured into
making decisions that normally I wouldn’t make if I had more time. Also I felt rushed in
making my TV advert due to not having a significant amount of time to film shots I
would’ve wanted.
I have chosen this shot to
analyse because I believe it
is one of the weaknesses
of my advert. The reason
being that due to having to
use a YouTube converter to
get the footage from my
channel onto my computer,
this resulted in the quality
being poor and not 1080p
HD like my other video
clips were.
8. EVALUATION
Feedback
I think that Liam's final edit is pretty cool. It is very well put together, there is quite a
funny bit where his dad bumps his head. It’s a good combination of stunts and fails,
the go pro captures the pictures amazingly however the YouTube convertor lowers
the quality; overall a great piece. Frank
Liam’s final advert highly resembles a real GoPro advert, it is very professional and
shows off the product well. I think that the way he complied and edited the clips
makes the product look very appealing. Brodie
Liam’s advert works great, the quality is really good. The song works great and goes
well with the video. Personally I would watch it again and would recommend it to
someone to watch and it inspires me to want to buy the new GoPro.
From my feedback I can see that I have accomplished what I wanted to do with my advertising
Campaign and have enticed the audience into wanting to buy the new GoPro. I think that this is due
To spending a lot of time filming and doing my pre-production and it really paid of
9. EVALUATION
If I had to do it again
If I had to do this project again I would give myself enough time to film more clips for
my advert, this is so I could improve my advert and get a higher grade. I would also
make sure I stick to the production schedule, I wasn’t able to keep with the time
schedule I had set myself to insure that I complete my project in time.
