 Parents, teachers, therapists should all use
Boardmaker
 Provides differentiated instruction while still
teaching the core curriculum
 Can be used anywhere
 Created for use in conjunction with PECS
(Picture Exchange Communication System)
Purpose?
 Boardmaker can be used for many things
 Picture stories
 Students with autism respond well with pictures
instead of words
 Can be used for non-verbal students as well
 Also work for all students
How to Use
 Simple and fun to use!
 Click and make picture boxes- then search
from thousands for the one you are looking
for.
 Can be themed
 Focus on preschool
Benefits!
 Helps students use their voice
 Song Boards/Story boards
 Picture schedules
 Great for ELL
 Can upload own pictures as well
 Boardmaker Speaking Dynamically has a
voice output function
Limitations
 Easy to use, but still time-consuming
 Works better with individual words, and not
pictures for every word
 Pictures can be limiting
 As the student gets older, pictures may
seem juvenile
