We sat down with LinkedIn staff software engineer Meling Wu to track two evolutions: LinkedIn’s search function and that of her own career.
With two and a half years as a backend applications development engineer for LinkedIn Search, Meling discussed how she and her peers streamlined and improved the relevancy of our search engine on one of her first projects with the company, Unified Search. We also discussed Galene, LinkedIn’s new search architecture, released and open sourced earlier this year.
Having worked at Oracle and Yahoo! before joining LinkedIn, Meling also spoke about her career and her reasons for joining LinkedIn’s engineering team.
