CONFERENCE 2010
Come and get to know of 600 Open Source developers,
administrators, entrepreneurs, expert users, strategists and
enthusiasts from all parts of the world in the second Malaysia
Open Source Conference (formerly known as MSC Malaysia
Open Source Conference) which will be held on 29th June till 1st
July 2010 in Berjaya Times Square, Malaysia.
Continuing last year's slogan “OPEN TO CHANGE”, this
year's slogan “MAKING THE CHANGE” will bring
participants in depth into the Open Source world with a series
of interactive events, while providing sneak peeks into Open
Source projects that are expected to make profound changes in
the Open Source eco-system. This year the conference will
bring some of the most exciting technical topics on cloud
computing, mobile computing, gaming, animation, databases
and security.
Malaysia is one of the most promising nations for a
vibrant Open Source eco-system that is led by the
government sector. Malaysia's government activity is
ranked 12th from 75 nations in the Open Source Index ranks.

3. This is expected to accelerate further across the industry in a
snow ball effect as Open Source continues to mark major
implementation successes, particularly in the area of e-
government web services.
Open Source itself has already started changing the way
software is developed in fundamental ways. Open Source
creates a freely accessible pool of knowledge where people with
common interests can participate. With Open
Source software you can do so many things from the servers
and networks to the desktop, mobile phones and into your
website, blogs, and social networks.
Even large businesses are getting involved in Open Source
and the industry is expected to grow to US$ 8 billion by the
year 2013. Did you know that businesses are the largest
contributor of Open Source codes and the largest employer of
Open Source developers? Do you want to know why profitable
businesses get involved in giving away free software?
So come and participate in the 3 day Malaysia Open
Source Conference that we have organised with 34 tutorial
sessions, 3 competitions, 22 talk sessions, 3 Birds of a Feather
meet up, and 16 demonstration booths, Freebies and food
included. This is a conference not to be missed with every
opportunity for you to hear, see and touch for yourself some of
the most exciting Open Source projects.
