This document outlines the rules and expectations for students participating in a one-to-one laptop learning program. Students are expected to use the laptops appropriately and only for educational purposes. Any damage or theft must be reported immediately. Files and software must be approved by teachers. Power cords are not to be brought to school. The laptop and all equipment remain the property of the school and participation in the program is a privilege, not a right.

2. What is the purpose of this program? To have a laptop to learn and enhance educational experience For teachers to access instant learning and create meaningful learning experiences for their students through: Software Web 2.0 Tools Blogging and so forth

3. What is expected from you Care, Respect and Responsibility Understanding of the AUP and the Laptop AUP Use for educational purposes only

4. What if the laptop is stolen or broken? First time incident is up to 30% of cost Second time incident up to 100% of cost If hardware issue (for instance the hard drive is bad) then our warranty will cover the cost.

5. What will the teachers use the laptops for? Your teacher has full rights on when the laptop is for use or not for use. As well if the teacher feels that you are abusing privileges, they will report this to the appropriate administrators. AUP violations extend to this program as well.

6. What to do if you have trouble Report any damage and theft immediately to the IT dept, or to Mr. Flynn. This is your responsibility in its entirety. Police report is need for theft outside of school. If your equipment fails bring it immediately to the IT dept. or Mr. Ionel.

7. What about files? No flash files or anything of the like You may download instruments (files) that are prescribed to by your teacher only. When in doubt always ask an adult at school.

8. Power Cable You are not to bring your power cord to school. Teachers are aware of this and will record any violations of the matter. You may lose privileges.

You are responsible for the laptops care at all times This laptop is given to you and you alone (your parents have the right to look at as well) You are responsible for all data saved and stored on your laptop.
