Sales
NME
Q
Kerrang!
From these results it shows that my target
audience definitely wouldn’t be
interested in magazines like; ‘Kerrang!’ or
‘Metal Hammer’ but ‘NME’ and ‘MOJO’
are the most popular magazines, closely
followed by ‘Q’. It also shows that ‘NME’
would have used brilliant tactics in the
magazine industry, for example, multi-
platforms.

Travelling
Sales
College/home
Waiting for
appointments
etc…
From these results it shows that my target audience
read magazines mostly whilst they are travelling or at
college/home. This means that they average age
group of my audience would most probably be 16-19
also they don’t just flick through all of the pages so I
things like interviews or major articles would actually
be read, then the third most is whilst waiting for
things so there should be sections of the magazine
that isn’t too detailed as well.

(Gossip, interviews, new music released, events coming up…)
Sales
Interviews
Events

Gossip
The majority of the people I questioned would want to
see interviews in the magazine, closely followed by
events. This shows that my target audience are keen to
know about what their favourite artists/bands think and
they are also very keen to hit the party scenes by going to
events etc… Then finally they are still interested in new
music/gossip but they would want fewer information
about it. This also helps show the age group (16-19
primarily) as by wanting to know the new events that are
coming up.
7. Question 4.
What would you like the double page spread to
contain/look like?
Sales From my research everybody

interviews of the bands/artists
Events – this shows that they are

to and their opinions on things.
New Artists
The other sections are events

£2.51-3.50; this means that as it
is near the higher end that they
£2.51-3.50 will expect a good quality
magazine with an entertaining
£3.50 or content as well. I will also be
more able to look at other magazines
that are priced around this value
to get ideas of how I can sell my
magazine.

on?

10. Question 7.
What would persuade you to buy a music
magazine?
Sales From this bar chart, created by the
results I was given, it is clear to me
that the appearance of the
Appereance magazine is key and that if it
magazine looks good then it will
appeal more to my audience, the
Latest headlines will have to be eye-
Information catching as well as they are
interested in whether or it
contains the latest information
Content
then finally closely followed by the
content of the magazine is the last
thing they will check. All of these
factors are important as they will
work in parallel with each other for
the audience to purchase the
magazine.
