2. Time Management
Monday 20th – Organisation of models for photo-shoot, send out emails,
decide on people to use etc
Tuesday 21st – Fill out recce form; sort out where I will have the photo
shoot. Also look at costumes and props that I can use
Wednesday 22nd – Flat plan of story board
Thursday 23rd – Decide on colour schemes for the magazine, chose a
master head as well
Friday 24th – Take some photos, first photo shoot
Saturday 25th – Anything that needs touching up
Sunday 26th – DEADLINE! Make sure everything is on the website!
This is the schedule that I
followed to make sure that I got
all the work done by the days that
I needed them to be. It also
allowed to keep on track with
what I was doing.
3. Organisation of Music
Artists/Models/Bands
I sent an email to my models, I had three
people say that they would already model
for me so it was just a case of sending an
email to them to clarify. As my magazine is
a mainstream magazine the fact that they
aren’t part of a band was okay as they
could focus on the clothing that they are
wearing as due to the ‘trendie’ category I
had off of ‘Find Your Tribe’ the magazine
for me, isn’t entirely down to music as it’s
the clothing and lifestyle for my audience
as well.
4. Further Organisation of Music
Artists/Models/Bands
I took photos of this person in Spain but I
thought that by the outfit that she is wearing
and the setting they would be good images to
use in my Music Magazine. So as well as a
photo shoot I emailed them to check if would
be okay to use photos of her – which it was.
None of these images will be the main pictures
as they aren’t dominant enough but the outfits
that she is wearing (plain t-shirt skinny pink
jeans and then a long black dress_ could work
well for smaller areas of the magazine.
5. Props and Costumes
I asked them all to wear appropriate
clothing, things that are in style at the
moment. Things like converse, denim
jackets, hot pants, skinny jeans, bright
colours, band shirts, jewellery (long dangly
necklaces etc)
7. Organisation of Location
I went to a concert to see ‘The Drums’ where I took some of my photos with
Steph, Amy and Peter.
I also used the wall in my back garden as it didn’t matter when I used it
(obviously) it was a plain background so it didn’t take any of the focus away
from the main image which is what I needed as I wanted the person to be the
dominant thing in the picture.
Then my third location was in Spain where I had already taken photos but
thought that some of the establishing shots would work well.
I wanted to use all these different types because I thought that if I did that it
would be more of a believable magazine as they wouldn’t have picture from
just one scene. Also the music concert one worked well as I could then do my
double page spread on something major and actual bands too.

10. I decided...
To name my magazine ‘M’ magazine. I
decided this because it links to the word
both music and magazine. I also think that
it sounds good and it follows conventions
as the is ‘NME’ and ‘Q’ magazine which are
both mainstream magazine with names of
just letters. Which suggests that the
audience also agree with that type of style
name.
